Do you follow them? I want jet black hair for the summer, but my mom was like "why don't you do light brown high lights for the summer; save jet black for next winter." I've never done any coloring to my hair, but I'm thinking of a jet black rinse. Is jet black hair in the summer a big no-no or is seasonal hair coloring something you should follow by general principle?

I do not follow those rules, I've been sporting light colors every season for the past 3 years.

They say to save dark colors for the winter, but I think black hair in the summer stands out and is sexy. Problem is, if you get a rinse, God forbid if you start sweating because you may have a messy situation on your collars.

I've never had a rinse or any color at all, will it really do that?! What should I use?

Girl, they don't call it a rinse for nothing.

Since it isn't permanent, everytime you wash, it comes out. If you're sweating in the back your of head, and your hair is damp and rubs onto your collar, you might see some of it on your collar as well. I've had a black and burgundy rinse and had to be careful.

This mainly occurs after a fresh rinse, not one that's been in your head for a while.

This one lady at my church, when she first got her black rinse, I was wondering whether she'd dyed or not. Then, I looked at her collar.

Do you mean that if you sweat you going to have colour dripping all over you? My GOd, I have been thinking about doing a black rinse. Trying to get my balck hair back

Not color dripping all over you

but it can possible show some on your collar from rubbing against the back of your head, mainly on a white collar.

I actually like darker hair in the summer because then I am tanner. Too dark hair in the winter makes me look washed out and sickly. Plus I like to do the opposite of what everyone else is doing. Don't worry about the rules and do what you want to do.

A permanent perhaps, but I've never had a permanent before. Textures and Tones has a nice inky black, and you won't have to worry about it washing out.

This lady at the gym always has a burgundy stain all over her neck and tee shirt from sweating during aerobics.

For the last 2 years, the only color I've used is jet black rinse (irrespective of season), and I think it makes my eyes and skin pop (especially in the summer)

I haven't rinse in a while, but I plan to do so early May. BTW, I have used Beautiful and Dark N Lovely Revitalizing Colors - neither has ever spread to my collar

I'm still

@ "they don't call it a rinse for nothing" and the lady in the aerobics class. Y'all are hilarious.

I have never paid attention the these "rules". My friend thinks I am crazy for having dark hair in the summer, I would love to lighten my hair again, but I am afraid I will get more damage. I am trying to cool out on the coloring for a year or two!
