Sealing with Oils??

Okay ladies, I've read quite a few threads about oils on the hair, and the one thing I'm VERY confused about is:

What does it mean when you SEAL your hair?

I've read that it helps to retain moisture and such, but what's the skinny on this, I mean, how do you seal it, and wouldn't it be kinda greasy when you do this? I may have read some posts wrong, but hey that's what I'm here for to learn and soak up all the hair care juice LOL

Anyone wanna breakdown the Sealing 101 Lesson for me please? LOL

TIA :)

Sealing just means sealing in moisture into your hair shafts. It means putting moisture on your hair (ie. leave in conditioner, etc.) and then putting oil on top of that. The oil lays on top of your hairs and keeps the moisture that you applied on your hair. I hope I explained that well. You hair shouldn't come out greasy because you're just putting on like a dime size bit of oil.
