What are some good serums or other products for sealing and moisturizing ends? In the other post someone stated castor oil but I would to try a serum. I'm taking a trip to the bss and would like some effective suggestions- :) thanks

I use castor oil or wild growth oil. I try not to use serums because of the cones in it. The cones will coat the hair strands and keep moisture from getting in.

My 2 favorite serums are NTM serum and Proclaim Glossing Polish. ITA with Pokaontas on the WGO and castor oil. When you roll your ends on self holding rollers after applying your oil it further helps seal those ends. ;)

bumping....

My mother-in-law left some Always Castor Oil grease at my house when she was here visiting. I used it to seal my ends last night and boy has my hair held it's moisture. I've been laying around all day on my fluffy tweety blanket & my hair is still moisturized & soft.

Anyone else sealing ends w/ plain old grease?

I've been using Kemi Oyl to seal my ends for the past few days and I absolutely love it!!! Keeps my ends so soft & moisturized. Only problem is now...I can't keep my hands out of my hair.

Where is everybody finding these oils? My local bss is gi-hetto and they don't seem to have it. Is there a particular brand you're using and how do you seal it exactly?

I purchased jojoba & avocado oils from the Vitamin Shoppe, my coconut oil I purchased online from an Indian distributor. To seal you just apply your moisturizer or leave-in, then place your oil or grease on top of that. HTH

Y'all are like scientists up in here, I learn something new everyday!

I purchase my castor oil, jojoba oil, and coconut oil from the health food store. I purchased my sweet almond oil from the Indian market and I saw that they have a good price on coconut oil so I may get it from there next time. And then EVOO from the grocery store. :)

My hair loves oil...not so much grease.

I coat my ends with Cantu Breakcure and seal with coconut oil from Whole Foods. It's a great combo!

I use coconut oil on my ends. I've been debating on trying castor oil and I see a few of you ladies use it. I may have to try it now. :)

Delta_gyrl, off topic I love your hair the growth is great and your hair is healthy...

Ah, thanks Neon! I loved the sexxy crimps in your fotki.

Do you change your hair color alot?

I use Bed Head Ego Boost as a leave-in to prevent split ends (it’s a near miracle worker). Then, I use any old oil to seal the ends…including vegetable cooking oil if that’s what’s on-hand! However, I really like Calm Coat because it smells great and softens my hair.

I used to 6 years ago, but I stop when I got pregnant and was going to again after the birth, but that is when I got sick. So any color change has to do with products, meds and mother nature.

I love to use oils to seal with. I use almost every oil I have around. I just dont use any with mineral oil. I also use grease from time to time.

Sheba...Shea Butter is fine.
