Sea Breeze after a relaxer?

I agree with you, Lovelylocs. It's drying. Pouring it on after a relaxer is
an effective way to unnecessarily irritate your scalp.

I always thought this was done only if a relaxer was left in too long and to cut down on infection if your scalp is burned. I've never had a beautician put Sea Breeze onto my scalp after relaxing. I know they do it in barber shops after a haircut to cut down on those nasty razor bumps.

This is what I've heard.

It seems to me if it had alcohol in it, its drying and should be very damaging to a relaxer. Reminds me of a time (b-4 LHCF) when my relaxer was burning my scalp, the hair dresser sprayed Bactine on it. Doesn't that make the hairs on the back of your scalp stand at attention?

Well back when I was in high school my female best friend's hair dresser used to use this. It was my understanding that since sea breeze is an antiseptic it helps to heal the scalp from sores. I have never done nor had it done to me. I have seen it done and it was nothing nice. I mean can you imagine pouring that stuff on your hair when you have irritation from a relaxer???

My mom would pour diluted sea breeze throughout my scalp after I got a relaxer on an irritated scalp. I know without it, I would have sores that sometimes would cause my hair to be plastered to my scalp. With it, I still had sores, but they were dry ones so nothing oozed out and caused my hair to be sticky icky.
