Scripture John Chapter 9.... (I need some help!!)

This is the story of the blind man that Jesus allowed to see. I am having a hard time digesting John 9:31 [ Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth]

So what does this mean exactly, that God doesn't hear the prayers of sinners? Ok, this is my thought.
God was a hard being. He didn’t play. There was no messing up with God. If you were disobedient, He killed you. Under the old testament.
Then comes Jesus, who is more forgiving, more loving, more merciful. And this is under the new testament.
The only way to God is through Jesus.
The only way God spares us is through Jesus.
Now, my thought is this… God may not hear the sinner’s prayers, but does Jesus? Is it through Jesus that a sinner's prayers might be heard?
I’m searching for scripture but I haven’t found anything. And maybe that's because nothing is there.

Is it biblically accurate to say that God just doesn't hear a sinner's prayers?
I need help with this one.

very interesting what you said. from the context that you wrote i take it as those who are obeying the lord and worship him, living right, will be rewarded. like in life, when you're doing the right thing and such, god will reward you with an abundance of blessings. however, when you look away and constantly being ungod like, negative things always seem to happen to you.
thats all i'm going to say though:)

I believe that God hears everyone who has faith in him and truly believes in him there prayers.

I believe this is the story where the man was healed from being blind by Jesus as an example to show who Jesus is and what Jesus can do.

God hears every sinners prayers because we are all sinners. It is what it is.

God and Jesus go hand in hand. I take it that Jesus is a part of God in the physical form. They are one of the same. God sent Jesus to as a scarifice to wipe away our sins. It is saying that to really have your prayers answered and heard you must believe and that is where faith comes in.

God loves good and yes he is giving us time to turn away from our sins. He wants us all to be saved and his, but the reality of it is that not everyone believes and follows. On the day of judgement, prayers will have been answered for everlasting life and those who never came will be too late. They will want what is too late to have because after death there is no turning back.

I hope that helps and answers your question.

I appreciate and respect your answers, but I'm looking for a scriptural answer as well. I need something written in the bible that tells me all prayers are heard ... or something along those lines.
I understand we are all sinners, but believers and those obedient to the gospel are pardoned and no longer separated from God (according to Romans 6:10)

Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. James 4:3

In other words: you pray and yet do not receive, because you pray wrongly, your object being to waste what you get on some pleasure or another.

and: Some even have prayed for the things which would satisfy their lusts, but God hears not such prayers.

Now this is based on James 4: 1-10:

Since all wars and fightings come from the corruptions of our own hearts, it is right to mortify those lusts that war in the members. Wordly and fleshly lusts are distempers, which will not allow content or satisfaction. Sinful desires and affections stop prayer, and the working of our desires toward God. And let us beware that we do not abuse or misuse the mercies received, by the disposition of the heart when prayers are granted. When men ask of God prosperity, they often ask with wrong aims and intentions. If we thus seek the things of this world, it is just in God to deny them.

Unbelieving and cold desires beg denials; and we may be sure that when prayers are rather the language of lusts than of graces, they will return empty. Here is a decided warning to avoid all criminal friendships with this world. Worldly-mindedness is enmity to God. An enemy may be reconciled, but enmity never can be reconciled. A man may have a large portion in things of this life, and yet be kept in the love of God; but he who sets his heart upon the world, who will conform to it rather than lose its friendship, is an enemy to God. So that any one who resolves at all events to be upon friendly terms with the world, must be the enemy of God. Did then the Jews, or the loose professors of Christianity, think the Scripture spake in vain against this worldly-mindedness? or does the Holy Spirit who dwells in all Christians, or the new nature which he creates, produce such fruit? Natural corruption shows itself by envying.

The spirit of the world teaches us to lay up, or lay out for ourselves, according to our own fancies; God the Holy Spirit teaches us to be willing to do good to all about us, as we are able. The grace of God will correct and cure the spirit by nature in us; and where he gives grace, he gives another spirit than that of the world. The proud resist God: in their understanding they resist the truths of God; in their will they resist the laws of God; in their passions they resist the providence of God; therefore, no wonder that God resists the proud. How wretched the state of those who make God their enemy! God will give more grace to the humble, because they see their need of it, pray for it are thankful for it, and such shall have it.

Submit to God. Submit your understanding to the truth of God; submit your wills to the will of his precept, the will of his providence. Submit yourselves to God, for he is ready to do you good. If we yield to temptations, the devil will continually follow us; but if we put on the whole armour of God, and stand out against him, he will leave us. Let sinners then submit to God, and seek his grace and favour; resisting the devil. All sin must be wept over; here, in godly sorrow, or, hereafter, in eternal misery. And the Lord will not refuse to comfort one who really mourns for sin, or to exalt one who humbles himself before Him.

Caramela, I hope this answers some of your questions.

Blessings.

If God did not hear the prayers of sinners then we all wouldn't have our prayers heard/answered.

1 Peter 3:12 "For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil."

How do we become righteous? In Jesus.

Those who are apart from the law and not judged under the law. Those who are under the law are judged by it.

I think if someone without faith prays just to get some benefits, then no the prayers won't be heard.
But if a sinner cries out to God for mercy, he will hear him.

Wow. That was great Nice and Wavy. I needed that and didn't even know it. Thanks.

This is what I believe too... and Nice & Wavy's post gave the scriptures to back that up.

Thank you all :yep:
