Have those of you who trim your own hair bought expensive scissors to do so?

I just bought some tweezerman scissors. Works just fine.

Inexpensive scissors are fine; I bought my hair-trimming scissors from the fabric store.

What's important is to make sure your scissors are sharp. I recommend designating a pair of scissors for cutting/trimming your hair only and not using them to cut anything else.

Nope! Got them at sallys. On sale for ten I think. Pretty pink with stars. And they only come out when it's time to trim. I won't use them on ANYTHING else. Now I feel like trimming again. I love those scissors.

I guess it depends on what's "expensive" to you. I brought my shears several years ago from Sally for $15 and as long as I use them for my hair only, they will last for years.

I bought a $60 pair from Sally's and they did NOT cut when I tried the first time and snagged on my hair as well. I had to pull my hair taught and snip. The cheaper ones I bought there (with the black handles) worked better imo. Cut the first snip and no pulling.
