My scalp is killing me. At first I was thinking growth, like some people on here mentioned, but growth cannot = constant, nagging pain like this. It just feels uncomfortable!

Does any one get these pains? What's wrong? And how can I stop it?

Maybe it's coz i stopped doing those pesky scalp massages Sistaslick talked about....oh, i dont know any more....

What's ur guess?

Have you been doing anything different or new to your hair/ scalp? Anything out the norm? Do you use any supplements like MSM? I heard that can cause your scalp to ache. I hope you feel better soon:ohwell: Can you descride the pain you are feeling? Like is it a dull ache or a sharp stabbing feeling?

Thanks.

It's a throbbing pain, as if there's something pounding on the inside trying to get out.

Yes, i'm taking supplements - Msm, Biotin, & other B supplements.

Hmm...what new thing have I done to my scalp?...oh! I'm ashamed to say but I experimented with a topical growth cream I had no business trying . I'ma throw away TO-NITE!!!

I am sorry you are having this pain, did it start when you applied the Growth Creame? if so you might need to stop, Mine gets sore too but once I massage it, It goes away after awhile, maybe you are having an alergic reaction.

Are you experiencing any other symptoms other than scalp pain? headache, itchyness, sweating, etc.?

I may be way off: but if I tie my scarf too tight: the spot on my scalp where the knot is at feels sore and when I comb it or move my hair in that spot: it hurts

No other symptoms. Just that silly nagging. I have been pulling all-nighters at work lately, so I'm a walking zombie. Is that it?

N' Girl - I only wrap my hair 2ce a week, if at all

Hi Wonderwoman. I typically get a pain/ache around my crown when I have a lot of new growth and I usually can remedy the pain by spraying my hair with glycerin/water combo. But recently I experienced a fierce :burn: pain in my crown area. Although I use topical growth aids, I hadn't used any in weeks so I didn't know where the pain was coming from. So, I applied glycerin (no water) directly on my crown and put a warmish/hot wet towel on top of the area and the pain went away. I think I got the idea to do that from reading a post on LHCF (I don't remember who wrote the post). HTH

I hope you feel better soon.

Yeah yeah yeah...that's it. The pain just pops from nowhere & makes you cringe! I've been suffering in silence for days, but after popping my neck like a chicken a couple of times at work I just had to ask y'all.

Thanks! I'll try ur remedy...

My scalp's been sore too. I slacked off and didn't take my GNC hair, skin, and nails for two weeks. Now that I've started back my scalp's really sore but I've noticed growth. I either get itchies or soreness with growth spurts.

My scalp has been sore too. I just massage it and it feels so much better after that.

Could it be a headache?

I bet its the topical cream you tried :nono: I wouldn't trust those things, I was thinking about going back to MTG but that was just some drama in a bottle, not to mention it smelled like old bacon. I like to do a good shampoo and conditioning when my head hurts, like with a shampoo that smells good and a really moisturizing conditioner. Its not as much the fact that Im cleaning and treating my hair as it is Im massaging it and letting my head soak. I heard peppermint shampoo is really soothing, I plan to try that whenever I get scalp aches.

Maybe you could try massaging it with Tea Tree Oil? I know that worked for me a few times.

I hope your head feels better, sometimes the only thing that helps is a good massage.

If you did something to your hair that causes the follicles to pulled in a different direction than they are used to for a sustained amount of time, that can cause soreness.

The first times I wrapped my head my whole scalp was extremely sore. Or pulling it in an unusual direction to put in a barrette has made one spot on my head really sore.

Have you had an MRI lately? If you had bobby pins in your hair, the little bits they will be pulled on by the machine, causing lots of soreness.
