I was checking out Sally's online to see what I can use my 15% off coupon on. I noticed that have Argan Oil sample for $1.99. Regular price is $8.99 or $7.99 with Sally's card, 3.4 oz.

Is it really the pure stuff? LOL...it's Sally's after all. It would be nice if it were real cuz it'll save folk the expense of shipping.

It is great stuff. I dc with it and seal with it. It is a great carrier oil. I got the pure stuff. I don't like anything mixed in it. I use the Argan oil with a drop of Neem oil.You get nice shiny thick hair.

I'd rather pay $32 for 3.38oz of the pure stuff (from Amazon.com) than buy it chocked full of cones and preservatives.

Thaaaats why its so cheap, Argan oil is like the last one on the list besides the coloring. I mean there is more fragrance in it than the oil. :nono:

I purchased the real Argan Oil from Henna Sooq. It's a great oil and does wonders for my hair.

Wowza...what a stinky combo argan and neem oil :perplexed, but that's a very clever way of using it. It's a fantastic carrier and quite unlike other oils I've dealt w/. Be sure to try argan in whatever facial things you might use. It's marvelous on skin.

I know that neem stinks, but does the argan smell bad too????:ohwell:

I bought it today and it smells & feels just like the Moroccan Oil I buy for $40 bucks. I'll test it out tomorrow when I wash.

something told me not to look at this post :nono:

you know I have an addiction Coffee :drunk: now I have to check out this argan oil, i've been looking at the moroccan oil but that never seems to go on sale anywhere, the moroccan oil has nothing but argan oil in it anyways from what i've researched.

thanks again :wallbash:

What does 'argan oil' come from? What tree?

It comes from a very rare tree in Morocco. The Argan tree, it is only located in southwestern Morocco. They are trying to not let this oil run out since it now has a global market. It is very expensive even in Morocco.

And btw I think this Sallys product is supposed to be a knockoff of the moroccan oil brand but much cheaper (kind of live hoe gvp stuff is) not just pure argan oil, thats why its ingredients are similar to the moroccan oil

it is not pure argan oil. it is silicon based. here's the ingredients.

Moroccanoil Oil Treatment Ingredients:
Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone, Cyclomethicone, Butylphenyl, MethylPropional, Argania Spinoza Kernal Oil (Aragan Oil), Linseed (Linum Usitatissimum) Extract, Fragrance Supplement, D&C Yellow-11, D&C Red-17, Coumarin, Benzyl Benzoate, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone.

Argan oil is beautiful, but you need the real thing. That Sally's one ain't really going to do the business imo. I've been using it just before I apply my leave in then proceed to rollerset, my hair has been coming out so smooth and shiny. You only need a small amount though otherwise it will wear your hair down. If I'm wearing my hair straight then I'll add a bit more in.

This oil is certainly one of my better purchases and my bottle will probably last me a year!

The real argan oil has a slight nutty scent. I would stick to the undoctored version. I like it in my henna mix too. I do a bit of Amla oil and a dash of Argan.

The Neem kills me. Something about the rawness of it irks me. But I deal with cause it does wonders for my hair. The Argan has no odor to me. I love Argan oil. I tried it a few times as a moisturizer for my face. I need to do that more.

Yeah, I am pretty sure that Sally's version is a copy of this brand. It looks like Sally's might even be better since it has less ingredients than the brand one.

I use the pure Argan oil though. I get it from Eden something or other. I love it and will probably use it more as the weather gets colder. Someone on LHCF posted some links awhile ago but I have not used any of them.

I have been interested in trying the Morrocan oil but I didn't find any rave reviews about it from ladies that had my similar hair texture. This makes me want to give it a try but is there a place that sells it in a smaller bottle not 32oz?

It's that neem oil gurl..... The argan is nutty in scent and quite pleasant. Here's something odd...as much as need oils stink, neem in powder form doesn't (scratches head in wonder). I don't know if you ever make any of your oils yourself, but if you do, try doing one w/ a neem powder for the absence of stench. You have my respect tho....anybody that can handle neem oil is a champ!

You put it in your henna, eh? I'm guessing just a dash cuz it's so darn expensive! I'm too cheap to have even thought of that. January, I know you're always looking to step up yo henna game, so here's a suggestion if you have some laying around....palm oil (the red stuff). Just a little will do ya.

Now you know I'm just trying to help my Sistah friends. I've seen the moroccan oil on sale at several places. I send you the link.

(I Posted this in another thread as well)

I brought a sample of this One and Only Argan Oil (Serum) from Sally's and have been using it for about a week as a daily moisturizer/oil.

This is good for us ladies who like to moisturize with serum. I just hadn't found the right serum to use. Well this is it.

I really, really like it, it gives a great shine, I like the smell, it helps lubricate and detangle my hair. It gives my hair a little "weight" but doesen't weight it down...it still moves, but my hair feels protected and covered. I like my hair to be a little heavier in the colder months for extra protection

I really like this product and I'm going to get the big one TO-Day!

It's nice to know that it's comparable to the original Moroccan oil. Now the PJ in me can die down. Even a PJ likes to get the same or better products for less....that leaves more $$ to buy more!
