safest hair dye??

I'm wanting to dye my hair jet black. What is the safest dye to do that?

Whenever I want a little color I use Clairol Natural Instincts. Its a rinse not a dye. I think lots of ladies use henna or indigo for permanant color without damage.

I use Clairol Beautiful Collection Advanced Gray Solution Semi Permanent in Midnight Black. This rinse holds my color longer. I cowash four times a week and steam once a week.
