SAD RANT Not wanting more for some1 then they want themselves

Today we tried to help a lady start her life over when really she just wanted someone to put her in a hotel for a week and her and her family would be on the street again I guess. We offered her housing for a month and she acted like she didn't want it. She wanted to choose the hotel area and wanted us to give her extra money instead of putting her in a house and helping her get job training. At the begining she was all hugs and God bless you when she realized we were trying to help her with her life and not just money she didn't even want to hug me goodbye. It hurt because I'm usually shy and not a hugger so for me to extend an expression in that way and you push me away I was like wow. It's just a reminder that everyone doesn't want a new start or what's best for them and their kids some people just want what they want even if it's a guy who they say is bad for her and a temporary living fix.

That is so sad to hear. I think people do want the best for themselves, they are just blinded into thinking that a certain path is the best and in reality it isn't.

That has happened more then a couple times in my church. I think one lady kept bringing kids with her, because she was trying to get sympathy and money. It didn't work. And she no longer comes, I mean people tried to help her, but ...yeah it didn't work out.

Like even some of the kids are like that. One little girl I think she really tries to hug me and be around me like some of the other kids are because she thinks I will buy her stuff or do stuff or take her places. I don't think she realizes the kids I advise only seem to get things because I put them through a lot.

I'm the youngest advisor in church I don't play because I'm doing it for them and if they act crazy then we all look crazy. The kids that hug me have gone through me telling them to get off of me (it's not a hug it's a death grip)


ANYWHO. (tangent)

You can only pray for her. Don't close your heart, because being willing to help people is what God wants of you. Pouring out the love he gives you is an example of his goodness...and just like we chose to take it or reject it it is the same thing with others.
