s curl or curl moisturizer in braids

Ladies,

Have you ever used s-curl or another one of those thicker moisturizers (like Care free, Hawiian Silky) on braids before?

If so, what were your results? Did you get more build up than normal?

I've used S Curl in my braids and I'd highly recommend it. It kept my new growth very soft and my length moisturized. There was some buildup but every 10 days to 2 weeks I'd do a clarifying rinse (ACV).

The most noticable difference with S curl was when I took my braids down. My hair was so soft and there was barely any breakage.

Awesome, that's good to know! So do you think I would get extreme build up if I used s-curl (diluted with a little bit of water) for 4 weeks while I was in cornrow?

I don't use any leave-in or moisturizer with my braids. But I seem to recall Adrienne0914, my guru, sharing that curl activator was the moisturizer she used when she grew her hair in braids. Seeing her waist-long hair is proof that it didn't hurt her to do this. Here's one of her posts.

s-curl doesn't have a bad smell! Not strong, no bad...it's just there

It smells like just any ol' curl activator to me. (A-Yannie don't be fronting like you didn't rock a jheri curl when I was juicing mine. Just come clean! )

If you don't like that smell, Hawaiian Silky No Drip Activator Moisturizer with Conditioner and Body 14-in-1 aka Miracle Worker is just like S-Curl to me and the only thing I'll use in lieu of S Curl when I'm out. It has a sweet smell. My friend thinks it smells like strawberries. I don't think so, but it might be sorta kinda maybe close.

I'm going to smell all of them and see what smells the best...right now i'm banking on hawaiian silky. the last thing i need is people thinking that i have a curl
