Hey Ladies,

As many of you know S-Curl changed their formula and I've been trying to find a quality replacement. Not only in moisturizing capabilities but in price.

I have tried Taliah Waajid Protective Bodifier Mist, it was okay, but it builds up on my hair quickly.

I just bought Lustrasilk Curl Max Activator and will be giving that a try soon.

Any suggestions???

Try Leisure Curl or Carefree Curl...tho the Lustrasilk one you already bought might do the job. I AM surprised that SCurl changed their formulation tho.

StaSoFro has a similar spray in a brown bottle that works well in the summer months & I agree with @gorgeoushair, straight glycerin & water will do the trick; add a few squirts of castor oil for additional moisture & softness.

Sta sof fro smells like 1973. Go with the glycerin, water, and castor oil. I'm still mad at scurl for changing their formula. It was the only product I have ever used that instantly stopped my breakage.

Can u list the old and new ingredients? I used some Scurl last week and had good results.
Old Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Propylene Glycol, Acetamide MEA, Ceteth-20, Olealkonium Chloride, Stearalkonium Chloride, Panthenol (Provitamin B5), Simethicone, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Fragrance.

New Ingredients:
Deionized Water, Glycerin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Propylene Glycol, Argan Oil, Olive Oil, Acetamide MEA, Ceteth-20, Oleakonium Chloride, Stearalkonium Chloride, Panthenol, Simethicone, DMDM Hydantoin, Disodium EDTA, Fragrance, Benzyl Benzoate, Linalool, Benzyl Salicylate, Limonene, Coumarin, Alpha-Isomethyl lonone.

You can start with 1 part glycerin to 3 parts water. If too sticky add more water. Keep adding until you find a level you like. You can also add some oils.

I took at my braids on Sunday and have used Lustrasilk Curl Activator and it is a HUGE HIT!! I did the Kimmaytube Leave In recipe with it and added a dash of Taliah Waajid Protective Bodifier Mist and my hair hasn't been this soft in a while. The best part was that it wasn't greasy, sticky, and NO build up.

HUGE THANK YOU to @Leesh for recommending the product. I truly felt like I was out of options.

Ill pick this up tomorrow at my bss tomorrow. .
They still haven't gotten the new formula memo lol.

Just dust on bottles lol
