My absolute favorite way to use Roux is mixing a little with my conditioners after a wash. For some reason, Roux has the innate ability to make my conditioners work that much better. Just a little goes a long way. I've also used the shampoo as a neutralizing shampoo after touch ups.

I'm natural but you introduced me to Roux. (I'm a subbie. You're tips and ingenuity are great...um the hair steamer. I also now use my hair steamer as a facial steamer. Hey. I figured it could go both ways :lachen:) Been using it just as you prescribed and my hair's strength, elasticity and moisture retention improved tenfold!! Just wanted to say thank you.

I  Roux PC! Prior to using Roux PC, on days it was humid I was resigned to either keeping my butt in my house or pinning my hair up because it would only revert to a big puffy mess once outside, but since then, I can't help but feel a little proud I'm able to be out and about just because I obtained a little hair sense.

As soon as I apply it I can feel the difference in my hair. I use it every week after I deep condition to lay my cuticles flat. I'm not very consistent with rinsing it out with cool water though and only leave it in for 30 seconds to 1 minute.

well, if it closes the cuticules of the hair and lowers the ph, it looks like the step 2 in "Joico k-pak 17 minutes miracle" kit, and it says on it to use it before the protein treatment

I use mine as a final step, after my protein and moisture. I use it only once a week, for one to two minutes, and I rinse it out with cold water. It works best for me that way, although I was mixing it with my DC, and I got some good results with that too.

I know that some people use it before, but I never understood why. PC closes up the cuticles and makes them lay flat, and I feel like it's harder for conditioner and stuff to get into the hair if the cuticles are closed.
And if you DC with heat, I feel like it's kind of a waste of product because you close your cuticles...only to open them again a few minutes later with heat. It seems like that would defeat the purpose.

But anyway, my vote is to use it last.

I know that it is supposed to be the final step, but, foe me I find it just works better before the DC, protein or moisture. Its not a completely ridiculous idea because in the Joico 17miracle kit it directs you to use its cuticle sealer -which is a low pH treatment similar to PC, after the shampoo and before the conditioning treatments. Try it both ways and see which one works best for you.

I went to sallys to purchase some today and they said it's being discontinued and it was on sale for $5.99...anyone else hear about this?
