Wow: I'm at the doctor's office, flexi rods still in: My hair didn't dry in time and I could not remove them too early after all that work.

I'm speechless. Lol.

I took the photo below before I got in the car. I went back to the method that works for me:

Apply product to hair that is detangled and as air-dry as possible after having washed it just prior. (I simply towels dry.)

Less product is more bettet: Keeps the drying time lower.

Brush the product through using one of those tiny, flat, circular detangling brushes that can attach to your index finger.

Place flexirod against head, then TAUTLY wrap ANNNNND twist a small section of hair around the flexirod.

Secure bottom end of hair with the snap-on piece from a roller.

Secure top of hair by hooking the top of the flexi rod over the hair in such a way as to maintain/create tension (to yield smooth(er) / straight(er) hair at the roots.

Can’t wait to see the results @Yvette 2.0! I can already tell the hair is really taut on the roller. Your previous set looked gorgeous, too!!

I did some red flexirods for my Thursday night shampoo. Enjoyed my hair on Friday and Saturday, even though I had quite a bit of frizz from my Saturday morning sprints before church. Black shirt is Friday, blue dress is Saturday. IMG_4513.jpeg

I love it! Looks gorgeous.

I didn't get a good picture of the last flexi rod set. The day was just so busy.

I did this set this morning. I reeeeeaaaallly like it. It is hard to capture the actual set via photo.

After removing the rods, I sprayed my hair with holding hair spray. I sprayed it again after separating and styling. So far it's holding up to some serious Texas humidity.

I see some room for improvememt in symmetry, regarding rod placement. Otherwise, I love it.

HI!!! I'm sharing the info below, in case anyone with FINE hair might benefit. If you don't want to read, the bolded words below are all you need, LOL, and the BLUE WORDS CAN BE SKIPPED COMPLETELY.
So, I'm aunti-mommy to my nephews. The older had a track meet yesterday so I had to attend as auntie-MOMMY. (Auntie could have gotten a pass maybe??? LOL).
Anyhoo, the wind and the Texas sun did a DOOOOOZY on my hair. It was unbelievably hot. Smh. I had promised DH that I wouldn't be doing my hair again this week (lol). He's been giving me confused looks all week as I redo and redo and redo my hair. I had to let him know that I'm learning a styling technique. LOL.
Anyhoo, all that to say: I had to redo my hair last night. I decided to go with a wash-and-go because I didn't feel like doing all that separating and installing that a rod set entails.
During prepooing, I noticed that I had many SSKs (single-strand knots). I don't think it's about yesterday's wind. I think the SSKs are about me TWISITING the hair as I wrap it. It does give an awesome look, but I have VERY, VERY fine hair. I betcha if I simply WRAPPED each section around the rod, that would actually be GREAT for length retention of my hair: Strands would be stretched in that detangled state. However, with the TWIST-AND-WRAP, TWIST-AND-WRAP move, it's forming a section that can easily form SSKs once I begin separating the section during final styling time.
I hope that makes sense. I'm going to go find a video wherein the person emphasizes the TWISTING move so that folks know what I'm talking 'bout. LOL.
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Sunday. Sunday is my favorite day of the week. God is good. Church is good. Church family is awesome. And post-church activiities are usually so fun and connecting. It's good to have this experience once-a-week, especially given the current political climate (which I am IGNORING COMPLETELY BECAUSE I VOTED AND YOU NOT 'BOUT TO HAVE ME STRESS-WATCHING THE NEWS NOW. LOL.).

Okay, I found a video that shows the TWISTING move. If you watch the video BEFORE timestamp 2:16, you'll see simple WRAPPING. But then at timestamp 2:16 she starts a section of hair that she will WRAP-AND-TWIST-AND-WRAP-AND-TWIST. I've been doing that for the resulting look. I think I'm going to bypass that and simply twist wrap and see what the SSKs are doing.

Here's the video set to start at timestamp 2:16:
