REVIEW: ORS Olive Oil No-lye Relaxer

I used it this morning. This is my new staple no-lye relaxer - and I have tried Dark and Lovely, Gentle Treatment, Bone Strait and a few others.

I based my scalp with EVOO and put EVOO on my ends and hair. I was very careful with touching up JUST the new growth. I have a VEERRRY sensitive scalp. My old stylist used to dread my touchups. I had NO BURNING with this relaxer. None at all.

The directions were great - they were very detailed as opposed to most directions that come with relaxer kits. At the end it even advised you to air dry your hair at least 90% before you put a blowdrier to it to minimize heat. (I think someone was reading our board.

)

After I relaxed my hair and washed it out with the neutralizing aloe shampoo, my hair did not feel stripped. I used their protein conditioner which came with the kit. Nice results but I followed it with my Humectress. I used a bit of serum and Elasta QP Recovery ( I love this stuff!!!) and blew-dried my hair. I can't stop touching my hair. I put my hair up and I am right back to my protective styles cause my growth is coming along very nicely.

This kit is a few dollars more than the rest but it is well worth it. This one gets an A+ from me.

I've used it twice now and I will never go back!!! It is excellent, it doesnt burn, the shampoo detangles, it washes out easily and the replinishing pak is perfect. They even give you setting lotion and some olive oil lotion too. The gloves provided actually FIT also. I would definately recommend this, especially in that they provide instructions with colour photos, like a panflet. The price in england is £3.99, most other relaxers are more and dont perform half as well.
