As promised, here's the review.

Some of you might know that I already braid, so I bring a different perspective to the viewing. That said, I think this would provide an excellent tutorial for the novice braider AND provide a few recs and/or affirmations for experienced braiders.

As others have mentioned, some of the dialogue is looped, but this is intentional. She keeps repeating her direct instructions each time she completes another braid because newbies really need that: to see and hear simultaneously.

She does an entire head in stages but moves very slowly as she works so that you can see exactly what she's doing. Here's a tip, after watching it slowly view it on ff so that you can see her work in something closer to real time.

Hair health seems to be a concern for her and that's reflected in her techniques and tips.

The really great thing for me was having my skill affirmed AND realizing I have some tips and tricks of my own. Hmmm, maybe I'll create my own series:lol:.

I ordered the 4 in 1 (to check my technique against hers) and the Cornrow Compilation (because that's not my strong point). I haven't viewed the latter but if anyone's interested, I'll do that later tonight and post.

I do think the cost is sorta high so I'd suggest you wait for her specials and sales (which come rather regularly) if money is an issue. The two dvds set me back about $80 which isn't chump change. If you've already got your technique down, this purchase might not be a priority. However, if you're new to this and want a bit more than what's offered on growafrohairlong, I don't think you'll regret this purchase.

The music on the main menu is kinda cool, sexy little interlude. (LOL!! Thanks Diva!! I didn't think you'd actually do it!!)
