I just purchased this flatiron over the weekend....looking forward to seeing if this works. Do any of you ladies own this flatiron? What is YOUR review of it?

Unique steam vents and channels allow this flat iron to be used on wet or dry hair, unlike conventional straightners. The channels extract moisture from damp hair and allow steam to escape through the vents, drying hair and sealing the cuticle ar the same time.

I just bought it as well but I haven't used it yet. I bought it to straighten curly weave - if it works I'll try it on my own hair sometime.

I think that's the one I own. I was just thinking about it earlier today. I used it on damp hair one day a couple of years ago and it came out soft and pretty. But I was scared to use it again for fear of damage. But I think I may revisit this--it was nice not having to blow dry first.

I have one. It straightens my hair pretty well. Doesn't get too hot.

There was an old post about wet-to-dry irons a while ago (search feature didn't find it...). I remember Nonie and Irrisistible (sp) successfully use this method but others were concerned about damage (exploded strands). Do you use dry or wet? Have you had any issues with? What temperature setting do you use?

Sorry so many questions! TIA!

two of my non Black friends use this. One of them has 3c hair and the other had 2a hair. On both of them wet hair is a no no it leaves it kinda poofy. It seems to work great on hair that is dry though. It gets pretty hot. in the 400s I think.

i remember somewhere on this forum someone saying that they coated their hair with heat protectant to the point it was wet and then used this product and their hair came out amazingly smooth.

..I kinda want to try this. It has great ratings online on amazon, though not everyone uses it on wet hair according to the reviews.

I've used it before. Fried the living bananas out of my natural hair, completely destroyed the curl pattern (it became type one soaking wet). I don't recommend it even on damp hair.

Wonder if it would be good for the heat training folks then...

I used this when I was relaxed. My hair felt like silk and had even more swing than usual. I would use it again with the right heat protectant and a good dc session it should be fine

I'm thinking of buying one of the wet irons for my natural hair. I really want to be a diyer, but I can't blowdry and once airdried my hair is stiff and impossible to comb thru (4b problems). This may help me achieve somewhat straight hair in less time and without such a struggle haha. I'll stop by Sally's today and see what I find

Yikes! Did your curl pattern come back? If so how long did it take?
