That's usually what they say to people who used to live in the ghetto but made their way out. Now they're rolling in a new Mercedes and living in apartment complexes worth a quarter of a million.

I'm bringing this up because now that my hair has grown, I constantly tell myself "remember your roots!" in reference to my hair, because I've seen myself flipping my hair and acting as if I always had hair this nice :nono: :lachen:

Do you find yourself forgetting your roots? Forgetting the days your hair was crispy dry, broken, and looking homeless?

I definitely feel more humbled when I remember my roots.

I ALWAYS remember my roots. If I don't those bishes will lash out and leave me bald. Demarcation line...demarcation line...demarcation line.

I remember my crispy, SL hair that I thought was bangin and I just shake my head. That's why I don't go to hard on folks with struggling hair, because there was a time when I didn't know any better.

Yes, especially when someone asks me for hair advice. Often people assume that the basic things that worked for me (like deep conditioning, being gentle) won't work for them! I always tell them that my hair has never been this healthy, thick or long, but usually, I am brushed off.

If they only knew, they would realize that their hair woes would be history.
