Hi Ladies,

Just a quick one, can I relax my hair the same day I take out braids ?

I would never do it. I'd expect the scalp to be way too sensitive after all that manipulation. I'd try not to even scratch my head a few days before I was due a relaxer, and my head isn't particularly sensitive.

Me personally I would wait at least a week or two. But i've never been a fan of getting a perm right after braids or a sew in.

I've read that you should wait at least a week before relaxing, (2 weeks would be best). That way you will be able to wash your hair and apply protein treatment to prepare for a perm. In the past, I used to perm the same day, but that was before I was enlightened, lol.

No.

Best results put some oil on your hair with some conditioner. Sit under dryer for 15 minutes minimum.

Take your time to detangle and comb out shed hair. Then shampoo hair and do a deep conditioner. Use whatever gives you the most slip.

As others said in a pinch 1 week will do but if you can it's best to wait 2-3 weeks.

I guess they say its not safe..I've tried it,well i relaxed the next day. I had no burning or nothing. Since its not safe,i wouldn't recommend it.
