Definitely Dudley's Mild no lye- this was my first relaxer 5 years back and it always leaves my hair silky & wavy. I love it.

Affirm Mild no lye is the only other relaxer I ever tried and it was too drying. It was a terrible experience.

Dudley's Mild also put out a Moisturizing Mild relaxer, which I love also. It works the same as the original mild to me, and I've never had a problem with it. No shedding, breaking, etc.

Before I relocated back to Georgia, my hair dresser at home (Florida) used Affirm. I loved the results that I got with it.

Once I got bored with my life, decided to move back to Georgia, turned 30, quit my job, and did the BC...my (new) stylist began using Phyto Index II. She said that I had lots of calcium build-up and she used the Phyto to do a corrective relaxer on my hair. It's never felt better. Now...if I can just continue to give it a little TLC....

Yes, it is that one. I could actually rotate the life and body with the one I used today. Girl, my hair is swinging. I wish I had a digicam so I could post results of my growing process.

Nice...I might try that one in the future. I'll try to keep it in the Vitale family.

I also like Mizani when my beautician used it long time ago but it's too hard to order since I self relax now and I don't want to order from Sheldeez.

Oh my goodness... 2 pages of posts and not 1 person representing Mizani!!! How dare you ladies!!! No but seriously I'd highly recommend mizani regular lye. Let's face it...all relaxers straighten the hair just fine. no lye not as straight as lye but they all contain the same straightening ingredients and they all straighten the same. But how does your hair do after the relaxer? For me, my hair does not shed and it is ultra shiny after a mizani. And its straight for at least 8 weeks (as long as i don't do an aphogee trtmnt). my hair does alot of shedding for a few weeks after using a no-lye which is why i chickened out of using my phyto relaxer i just bought. I get consistent results with mizani and i'll use it forever.

I use Mizani as well.....but I use the lye one Fine/Color Treated hair. I love it!!!!!

Mizani sisters unite!!!!

I USED MIZANI FOR AT LEAST 7 YEARS, THEN MY STYLIST STOP DOING HAIR:mad: SO I STARTED WITH SOMEONE NEW AND THEY USED AFFIRM. THE FIRST TIME MY HAIR WAS NOT STRAIGHTEN EVENLY, AND I HAD TO WAIT ANOTHER 8 WEEKS TO CORRECT IT. THE SECOND TIME CAME OUT BETTER BUT I HAD TO LEAVE IT ON SO LONG IN ORDER TO GET THE LAST SECTION AS STRAIGHT AS THE FIRST, SO I BURNED. PLUS MY HAIR HAS BEEN SHEDDING LIKE CRAZY:mad: AGAIN! SO TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION....MIZANI WAS THE BEST FOR ME AND MIZANI WILL REIGN AGAIN.

I have extremely thick but not very course hair. No lye relaxers caused shedding and dryness. Motions made clumps of hair come out. Mizani corrected all the problems caused by other relaxers. I'm very pleased with this product. I thought about phyto, but I've decided to stick with what is working. I'm done with experimenting.

Affim Fibreguard

I have fine 4a hair and I started to use this the same time I started my hair journey and its amazing.
Its a great relaxer if used properly.
The perfecto used to help stop overlapping is the bomb, I cant afford to over lap with relaxers. That why I stretch also.
My hair is now the fuliest its every been and I dont walk out with my hair stuck to my head ( Bone straight, liveless, overprocessed) It moves and bounces around.

Kizzy

I use Optimum Multimineral Lye Relaxer in Mild. I use the whole relaxing system...this has been my relaxer for over a year now and it hasn't let me down.

Hmmm...Affirm makes a mild relaxer that has NO-lye??

My stylist uses Affirm mild on my hair and I was pretty sure it was a Lye relaxer. Can anyone else vouch for this?

I used Elasta QP super realaxer, it workd really well, but i really wanna try profectiv ,does any of you ladies know if Profectiv has a lye relaxer?

Thanx!

Soft n Beautiful I love. It gets my hair a little straight and is easy to work with. My hair is a little dry by that first week but that is always corrected by the next week and is better after I started conditioning then neutralizing.

Hey,

I am new and lurking. I am looking to relax in a few months (i am 9 months post)

My edges have suffered a little from two different braidings so I want to give my hairline a little time to fatten up before I relax.

I have surge--is this any good for edges? What about WGO, M-T-G for edges.

But my main question...

WHAT RELAXER do you think is best? I tried doing a search and a lot of the posts end up going off topic. So if you would give me a few suggestions. Better yet, tell me what you DON'T recommend!

my thoughts so far are

Salerm
ORS
Gentle Treatment
Motions ( i was using this before, but my severe PJism causes me to stray)

TIA ladies :D

I love ORS no lye...Salerm left my cousin under processed and her hair is like 3c and Motions burned me the second it was applied...I mean the second (stuff is the devil on me)

Revlon Realistic is best for texturizing or texlax. My hair never got damaged with it, but then I never got strait hair either.:ohwell:

Hawiian Silky No Lye No mix is the best of all the relaxers I have ever tried. It gets my hair straight in a with no problems at all. I never get that dry spell that other no lye relaxers left on my hair. I wont trade this one for anything else, Oh and its really cheap too.
