i seriously thought about it until i tried transitioning and went through hell.plus if i did go natural i would still have maintained the straight look by pressing. dena are you planning on going natural??

yes in the future. i also plan on having locks sometime in the future as well and shaving my head bald. i'm also gonna try a short halle berry style in hot pink. all in the future though.

No because it's much easier for me to handle my relaxed hair. I've only been relaxed for 2 years. Up until then I was natural. So I plan on staying relaxed for a while.

Yes!! Not in the near future
I say about 5 years from now

I was natural for 4 years. I cut off my relaxed ends and just did it. I was in college at that time and tought that it would take less time/money/hassle to be natural. Boy was I wrong... The nights I spent trying to smooth out my naps. I'm relaxed now, and I like it.

Yea I do... been relaxed for less than a year and I've been seriously thinking about going back natural cause of my edges mostly. I was planning on starting the transition by next august if by then my hair line is not filling in. But if my edges dont get worse I wont transition until maybe 2006-2007

No, no, no! I just got texturized after being natural for 8 years and I have no plans to return. My texturized texture is very close to my natural, but so much more managable now. I wish I hadn't waited so long and had put those heating tools down long ago!!! I could probably have knee length hair by now!

I've been doing the partial natural thing for 9 months now and I can't wait to put it to an end next week. I can't stand having poofy hair towards the end of the day; avoiding moisture in the air at all cost; taking an emergency scarf to school and work in case it rains; not using products with water; taking four hours to shampoo and blowdry my hair (don't even think of airdrying--I'll look like i'm wearing a fitted hat). The only way I'd stay natural is to get a blowout every two weeks and never do my hair at home again.

Yeah, when I am old and want a little natural fro. Until then, I will try to prolong the time in between relaxers.

Yes but I won't transition. So whenever I get up the nerve to cut it all off that's when I'll go natural. I can't be bothered with the two textues.

Yes... when it all falls out from checmical processing 20 years from now!! No seriously, I know I probably should for the long term health of my scalp and hair, but I dont want to! Relaxed hair is so easy to take care of.

Well.. good luck to anyone who is 'going thru the change'.

I've thought about it..almost made it at one point..but it became hell and I found that relaxed hair works for me

I am really leaning towards it. That is one of the reasons I am stretching out my relaxers longer...to see if I can deal with my natural hair texture (been relaxed since I was 12 yrs old). The real test will be in the Summer when my hair has to deal with all of the humidity.

There are so many beautiful heads of natural hair here.

If and when I finally decided to go natural...I won't cut off my relaxed ends. I would be dealing with 2 textures.

I just when ahead and did it while my relaxed hair was short. I never wore my hair straight with a relaxer...only when i got a touch up which was twice a year. it made no sense to me...plus when the humidity came my relaxed hair looked just like my natural hair. So no need to keep paying for touchups that looked just like my natural hair. Now the only difference between my natural and being relaxed is that i have NO breakage at all and my hair is fuller.

I think people who relax should go natural when their hair is not thriving no matter what they do to it (cut, deepcondition, vitamins, protective styles) obviously relaxers are not for your hair :/

I am contemplating it. I miss my natural texture, miss the waves, and miss those big fluffy ponytails I had when I was little. It will probably be a while though, I want to see how long my relaxed hair can get first. If I do go natural in the future I would transition for a long time with braids etc...and trim a little bit of the relaxed ends off at a time. I would wait until I have at least 4 or 5 inches of natural hair before making the final cut, I don't think I have the guts to ever do a big chop, plus I have a big ole head and would need enough length to counteract it.:D

It's so much fun being nappy...

I however understand that it's just not for everyone. I've given up on trying to convince people. Now it just "do as you choose" with me. We are all beautiful, relaxed or nappy...

Not anytime soon. However, I am going to see how long I can wait until getting another relaxer. My last relaxer was near New Year's, so I'm currently at almost four months.
