Growth comes from the scalp, but your length retention may be affected by using direct heat. It really depends on the individual. Some can do what others can't with no problems
Thanks
BTW your hair is beautiful. I use heat on my hair once a week basically just blow dry it b/c I dont have time to sit under a dryer but it dosnt effect my hair that I can see anyway.
It depends on the person b/c I used heat once a week on wash day for years and I didn't have a problem with growth. I always got a nice size of newgrowth but I think it is more of retention. I think it has more to do with all the things you are doing to your hair that can contribute to slow growth not just heat.
I think it depends on the individual. I used to use heat once a week a long time ago and it did'nt hinder my growth at all. I think it also depends if you are protecting the hair while you use heat and if you are keeping your moisture level up in additionto that. like others have previously mentioned it does have to do with retention rather than growth.
