I'm trying a new low maintence regimen. Do you cowash with freshly relaxed hair or just when you get significant newgrowth? TIA.

I picked all the time. I usually cw at least 2 times a week and wash with shampoo once a week. It keeps my hair nice and moist. I use Suave Milk and Honey or Elucence.:)

Ive cut co-washing out of my regimen......... too much manipulation. BUt in the past it was about 1-2 per month.

I picked all the time, but I usually wait until 2 weeks post to start the daily co wahses.

I only co-wash if I am wearing a braid out. Otherwise I just shampoo once a week. When I get a fresh relaxer I wait two-weeks (yup TWO) before I shampoo. I don't know why I do that, I have just always have.

I've cut out CW also. But I was doing them with a descent amount of newgrowth. I am on a 'less is more' type regimen for myself. I'm sticking to washing 2x per week only with heat to deep condition. I like this better, less manipulation. I was CW 3-4 times per week in the past.

I started out doing it daily, now I just do it whenever I wanna "play" in my hair. I think this is one of those things that at first you go crazy on it and do it everyday and love it, then you start to back off a bit, I think I will get down to doing it twice per month who knows. I voted for always

I cowash my relaxed hair no matter how post relaxer I am. Therefore I picked the seocnd choice.

I cowash once a week in addition to shampooing once a week.

Did you mean the first choice? Either way, your hair is beautiful.

ETA: Of course your album is locked b/c you're on the hide your hair challenge lol.

yeah I meant the first choice. I am always rushing while I am typing and never reread what I write.

Anyways, thanks for the compliment :D I feel bad locking LHCF out, but I can't wait until Dec. comes!

I cw all the time, mainly because I work out daily and I get all sweaty. Sometimes I just rinse my hair with water after workouts, My hair seems to like it so I've been sticking with what works.

Hi Genesis! Nice to "see" you. This is what I do too, for the same reason. Works well for me.

Hey

I begin co-washing everyday right after my relaxed hair is styled. I do it everyday for about 7-8 weeks (when I have a ton of new growth) and decrease the frequency to 2-3 times a week.

Doing this everyday is not advised if you:
1. hate buns or protective styles
2. hate wet hair
3. have hard water/don't have a shower filter
4. Use conditioners with "cones." I use Suave, which doesn't have cones

Back at cha! Thanks for the advice.

I'm transitioning and have a lot relaxed hair and a good amount of natural hair on my head, now. I chose #1 b/c I conditioner wash, a lot.

I just started cowashing. I do it when I want to play in my hair or want to feel refreshed. If im wearing my hair in a bun that week I could do it up to everyday....if not once a week.
