Relaxed heads: What's your hair texture when air dried?

Since switching to ORS no lye I've noticed my hair, when air dried has a zigzag texture. It's straightish with little crimps, like kinky hair that's been blowdried straight, but it dries very straight if I roll it or use some kind of tension. When wet the ORS relaxed hair has a soft/relaxed curl pattern. I don't know if that means it's underprocessed (since my old Mizani relaxed hair is much straighter). This is all fairly new to me. I never took the time to observe my hair this closely until last night.

What's your texture when air dried, do you relax straight/bone straight or texlaxed and what relaxer do you use?

My hair dries similiar to how you described. I can wear it curly or wavy if I scrunch it and add styling products like gel or any other curl enhancing product.

is there a hair-type that combines frizz, wave and zig-zag, cause that would be me. With more frizz than anything. I relax with sensitive strenght relaxer until bone straight.

I use Phytospecific and my hair is bone straight when I wash and air dry. It is straight with excellent body and curl when I rollerset it and holds the curl very well.

I relax bone straight although my last relaxer was underprocessed. When I airdry my hair is a frizzy mess if I don't use products or comb it through several times during the drying. I use varying relaxers, haven't found my godsend yet. When I rollerset my my hair it's gets bone straight again. Because of my thickness even when I blowdry my hair it isn't bone straight until I follow up with the flat iron or curlers. I've totally stopped this process though.

After transition 10 months, I think I'm going back to the relaxer...I had the best, most defined curls when I was relaxed...which is funny b/c when I had virgin hair I was never able to achieve the same look...How is that possible.

I thought transitioning would help me get my curls back but it hasn't. I'm wondering if cutting off the last bit of relaxed hair on the ends would help

my hair hates to be airdried. even with product, it dries poofy, and crinckled. and it sheds a lot when i comb.

 Maybe I'm not underprocessed, you're describing my hair!
My new ORS relaxed hair looks just like you described until I rollerset or flat iron it. It laughs in the face of blow dryers, it has that crimped straight look when I use a blowdryer.

Mine dries the same as you described and I also use ORS no lye...but I like the texture...It almost makes me feel like I'm natural even though I'm not...lol. Here are some pics of what my hair looks like when airdried:

Nice hair and you're very pretty!

So is that texture considered texlaxed, underprocessed or just regular straight?

I thought this was just happening to me.. My hair is a frissy mess after washing and to get it straight I have to use alot products. I use ORS Lye.. I am thinking about switching relaxers.

I like how yours dries!

Mine is kinkier than that - WAY more wavy, should I say. not sure how to explain but it is not as straight.

Mine is just like how you described yours. I airdried last night and today a coworker asked me if it was time for a touch-up. I relaxed maybe 2 weeks ago :ohwell:
I used Mizani mild for 15 min.

When I relax I like to leave a little curl, so that if I accidentally overlap next time, it won't be overprocessed, it'll just be relaxed a little bit more.

I can't do a wash n go, though. Most of my hair would air dry into an Edward Scissorhands look :(

Mine is similar to that also. Curls/waves all over but not consistent enough to do a wash and go without a lot of manipulation. It will get straight with a rollerset. I alternate between the rollerset and airdrying in a bun.

I use Silk Elements in mild.

same here. my hair is always frizzy and puffy when airdried.

I try to avoid combing when I airdry for this reason. I try to just finger comb...still perfecting that. If I really need to use a comb I only use my shower comb.
