Relaxed heads, how do you keep your hair straight?

At first I tried wrapping my hair around my head but that made one side more fuller than the other soo now I use the cross-wrapping method which is splitting half down the middle and wrapping each side around the other-making a X with my hair on the back of my head...the later works really well on my hair and keeps my hair straight for longer amounts of time

Wrap or I take my hair and "fold it up" in a figure 8 (ends tucked) and add a bobby pin. I do the latter more often than not out sheer laziness lol

I moisturise my hair with a my leave in conditioner, seal with a little bit of olive oil, comb and then wrap in the same direction. I put bobby pins in to secure it and then put on my headscarf. If I avoid any of these steps, my hair would either not be so straight, will be dry or would just look poo.
Although I've never experienced thinning due to my wrapping, I am interested in doing a cross wrap but I'm not too sure how to do it. I was also wondering if my hair is long enough to do it (I'm between SL and APL).

Big pin curls
I will smooth some cream like ors carrot oil cream on sections every other to every two days to keep it soft and smooth

Last night I used a large scarf and coconut oil and my hair came out silky smooth. I was so tempted to wear it down today. I think the scarf method is a lot better than wrapping.

Did you just have your hair in a ponytail with the scarf method?

Co-signing the crosswrap. I used to traditional wrap and my hair always appeared lop-sided or one side seemed to thrive a little better. I alternated sides also, but still had the same results.

Now, I apply HE LTR and jojoba to the ends, crosswrap, and use two large duckbill clips to hold the length in place.

Once I have my scarf on, I slide the clips out. This keeps my hair straight without that wrappy, wiggy look I used to get with the traditional wrap. I hope it works for you too if you try it.

I moisturize and seal my hair with coconut oil or shea butter.I wrap or crosswrap...they both work great for me. I don't use any bobby pins or clips, because it leaves waves in my hair. I tie it down with my scarf and it is nice and silky in the morning.

Hmm, I don't think I know what the scarf method is. Is there a vid or thread on it?

^^ what's the scarf method?

It is basically tying a scarf to flatten the new growth as much as possible. Some people use a tight wave cap then their scarf to keep the hair flat. I personally just moisturise and seal if necessary then I may just put my hair into the style I want to wear the next day then don my scarf. In the morning my hair is smooth and flat.

Wrap or Scarf with bonnet on the back.

I only wear my hair straight for 3 days at a time. I get bored with it after that.
