Relaxed Haired ladies who use FHI Flat Iron...what temp do you use?++

I've had the technique for a lil bit, which had a set temp, but today, I got the FHI Platform. I was just wondering what temperature do you guys use? Do you use that certain temp for a specific reason?

Also, I'm relaxed 4b-- my hair is fine, but my new growth...is coarse and thick as who-haa. :ohwell: Any recs on what temperature I should use?

Im transitioning and have very thick hair; I use my FHI Platform on the highest setting with heat protectant of course with no problems and if have to go over any other time before my next wash i will only use about 300- 320 degrees...

HTH

i have the same type and texture (4b, relaxed) and I use mine on 390...as long as you use small sections, that will get your new growth, but it is also not going to damage your relaxed hair, which may not need the same amount of heat as the new growth. I'm 9 weeks post now, and I just used this heat setting on Sunday...my hair is still straight and I work out every day.

I have the Technique with no temp control. I like the high heat. As long as I use a heat protectant, my hair is fine.

I use my FHI at 320 to 370 degrees and it gets my new growth and relaxed hair straight enough for me.

My hair type is the same as yours and I use mine at 300 whether I'm using it on damp or dry hair. On damp hair I have to pass it over each section several times till it's fully dry but as long as my hair doesn't come out smelling burnt I don't mind. Anyone own an FHI curling iron? I'm interested in getting one, I'm assuming they work as well as the flat irons but I would like to hear someone's experience.

I set it to 190 degrees celsius, any hotter and i will have flat hair, it gives me a bit of movement and still straightens with body.

Wow, this is a really interesting thread!

I'm texlaxed and usually never go above 230 degrees because I'm scared lol......therefore it takes me hours to straighten. Looks like y'all are doing well with higher temperatures though so I'll give it a try next time.

I'm seein a lot of 300's-350's and maybe 370-somethin. I'm glad I switched over to the Platform...perhaps the set temp of 410 on the Technique was killing my hair???:perplexed
