Relaxed and Texlaxed: What's normal hair loss during wash days?

How much do you guys loose? How much is in the drain, and when you detangle, approx. how much is on the comb.

I've noticed my shedding has slowed waaay down, and although I see broken hairs on my head, they are NOT at the demarcation line and therefore have to chalk it up to it broke at some point - because of - some thing so just make it better and move forward. :ohwell:

I DC twice a week with Biolage Balm or Kenra MC (spiked with honey, eos and saa) so I'm doing the moisture thing and just have to let time heal the past wounds. I have to realize that this head of hair is a result of years of stripping, over processing, and thinking Infusium 23 leave in was all you needed. :wallbash: So, it's going to take a bit of time to restore it to full health.

I think of my hair similarly to that of a malnourished person on the road to eating healthy. Though they may put on weight in a couple months, it's going to take some time before the internal structure is fully recovered. So, I'm starting (or started in December) the process of rebuilding my hair from the inside out.

I'm monitoring my shedding during wash days, and as stated, have noticed less - less and less hair in the catcher. I'd like to gage what is a normal amount of hair loss during wash days.

Thank you ALL for the helpful advice you give always. :yep:

I know I don't really apply to your criteria for asking but I gotta say, my shedding/hair loss clumps are really huge right now. I think it's the NJ Weather that is pizzing my hair off!

But it takes a licking and keeps on ticking. It's the never-ending Head of Hair!:drunk:

Why is it that hair breaks/shed more in the winter time? is there an explanation to it??

im texlaxed and because of the season I have also shed/and broke more hair than usual, but honestly really not too much now that I think of it, because I had my hair in braids and just took them out, so I hadnt shed or broken any hair in the hole time my hair was braided, so I guess im not really complaning :)

I'm seeing VERY little hair in the shower catch, lately - even when I'm detangling in the shower.

It's the combing afterwards that kills me. :nono: Between shed hairs that had to be tracked down and roughed up a little to come out, and broken ones - I'll get a fluffy *think* you know those superbounce balls you can get? A lil bigger than a jack ball, but smaller than a golf ball? About that much hair, every two weeks.

I'm not getting a lot, and now I wonder if I'm even combing my hair right? I'm so mindful that I cant be rough, so I think I'm going to the extreme end and not combing enough to loosen up the 'naturally' shed hair.

I don't know what to think. When I wash on Friday's, it's a more thorough wash so instead of washing in the shower, I use an attachment over the tub.

I do this so I can see, as I wash, how many hairs I'm loosening up (I sometimes think a few slip past the catcher and I don't see this when I'm showering) in order to monitor.

So, during my Friday washes there's more hair in the catcher, but still less than what I was loosing in the beginning.

Oh well :ohwell:

I appreciate you ladies for responding because I can't measure my successes or failures without a starting point from people who know.:grouphug:

I am texlaxed and I shampoo, condition, detangle daily and I only see two to three strands of hair everyday.
