Just curious how many times a day on average you get your head wet?

Typically it's everyday but sometimes twice a day.

How about you?

I'm relaxed and i wet my hair everyday with a spray bottle when moisturzing .

On average 2x per day. In the morning and at night. Or whenever my hair frizzed out and I need curl definition.

I don't put my hair under running water though, I throw water on my hair until it's very damp. That way I don't lose any moisturizer or oil.

I wet my head usually 1x per week, sometimes 2x a week. I noticed the more straight water I was putting in my hair, the dryer it got. It got to a point that if I wasn't re-wetting everyday, then my hair was dry no matter what I put in. Once I eased back on the frequent wetting, the extreme dryness started to stop.

Really?? Interesting indeed.

Is it not good to cowash more than once a day? I am texlaxed and cowash a lot. Is that bad??

It's a lot of manipulation with wet hair. Wet hair is more fragile than dry hair. That's more potential for breakage.

However, if it's working for you, keep doing it! All our hair responds to things differently.

I see. I didn't think about that. Well, I just wear a wash n go so really there's no manipulation. I can see though how for some it could be.

I am relaxed. During the summer, I like my hair straight so I only wash like once a week. During the winter, I cowash once a day or once every other day.

Since I've been relaxed, I wash my hair once every 5 -7 days.

Natural, I'd have to wet it every day to style, but that seems like wayyyyyy too much manipulation for relaxed hair.

I do add product to my ends everyday though. Don't know if that counts.

Coily did it feel weird to have the water hitting your scalp the 1st time you washed after getting your relaxer? The 1st time I washed after perming I could actually feel the water on my scalp and it felt...nice but strange :lachen:

I live in a tropical environment and workout 5 days a week and on those days I cowash. Leaving the gym my hair is wet like I showered so I have to cowash to feel clean but I dont on weekends, gym or wash that is.

for the last month, i have been cowashing once a day. then for the first time in a very long while, i experienced breakage. i have more than 3 mths new growth and the constant manipulation of wet hair was too much for my demarcation line. but i am not ready to relax yet. so i am going to nurse it and alter my washing with more protein and maybe every other day or go back to every week. dunno yet.

I cowash everyday...sometimes twice a day. If I work out that day I cowash twice. I have never experience excessive dryness from doing this.

I'm relaxed and usually I wash once a week if I'm not wearing a half wig. If I'm wearing a half wig then I'll cowash about 3 times a week.

I wash or co wash 2 -3 times a week. I moisturize my hair twice a day - once in the morning and again in the evening. I sometimes dampen with water if it's a bit puffy.

I co-wash every other day, but I at least spritz my hair daily in order to style it. My moisturizing spritz is half aloe vera juice and half rosewater glycerin.

I only wet the front part of my hair (once) everyday to brush back/smooth down my hair to put in a braid. I have become lazy so I only co-wash once or twice a week. I would think co washing twice a day is too much manipulation.

If I'm not doing a protective style, I will usually cowash everyday (and sometimes I cowash while wearing a protective style). Sometimes I can get away with just putting it back in a puff and not having to cowash again.

For relaxed or texlaxed ladies, is it ok to co wash daily or ervery few days is you are just doing a wash n go? Also, does this cause the hair to revert faster? Thanks in advance!

I am relaxed and I cowash almost everyday followed by the wash and go. On day 5 I may do something different (roller wrap) cause that is usually friday and I dont wash on the weekends. No problems yet but what works for me may not work for all you just have to test it and see how it works for you.

Over the summer, I pretty much co-washed everyday. Lately, I've been trying to see whether or not certain products can give me two day hair, or I've been wearing protective styles. So I've stretched my co-washes to every 2-3 days. I find that my fine hair does better that way.
