The only thing I use is the Smooth Down Butter Treat. I really like it. I use it for cowashing, or a bit as a leave in. Or as a DC..lol. It's very versatile and my hair likes it.

If you check my fotki (in profile) I have some little comments about each product in the Redken Smooth Down line. It is my staple line.

The Redken Smooth Down line has become a staple for me. I love the conditioner and the butter treat. I tried Redken's new Real Control conditioner and the leave-in, and my hair hated it. I really do love the Smooth Down line though.

I bought the Redken total control intense renewal and I really like it. Its not "the one" but worked pretty well.

I have the All Soft shampoo & the Heavy Cream dc, neither one totally impressed me. I have had products that made my hair feel so much more moisturized for less money.

Vpoetic i wanted to mention that ULTA has a sale going on 5/$10 trial size assorted products. So i bought 3 redkens smooth butter treats and 2 lotions. There were other redkens products also but i didn't remember hearing about them. I have yet to try my products though. Sale is on til the end of this month.

I now use Redken Smooth Down condish as my daily moisturizer and seal it with unrefined coconut oil. My hair is very happy!

I tried that last week. I'm curious as to how you used the coconut oil. My regimen:

1. Wash hair
2. Apply con with coconut oil
3. Rinse
4. Apply Redken Butter (Smooth line), and various other products (I can't recall names right now - I'm at work)
5. Pull back in pony tail
6. 15 minutes under dryer (hair still wet afterwards, but not dripping wet)
7. Air dry

However, I probably should have nuked the coconut oil for a few seconds because I had clumps of coconut oil in my hair. Do you mix the butter and oil together and then distribute in your hair and leave in? I think I'm going to try this tonight after swim practice.

I use the Redken Real Control Masque, Leave-In, and Thermal Protectant. I think they do a good job. I've only used them when I roller-set and flat-iron my roots. It kept my hair smooth and moisturized and I had a lot less tangling at the ends when my hair dried. It also reduced the 'poof' factor.

I like the leave-in a lot and I'll be trying it on a braid-out tonight.

I used Redken's Heat Glide and it really help protect my hair when I did my rollerset. I can totally tell my ends look a lot less damaged when using this product.

The Extreme Anti-Snap is pretty good to me. I use it before flat ironing and it reduces breakage and smooths my cuticles, especially my ends. If your hair doesn't like proteins, you should use it only 1x a week. I also like the Cleansing Cream. It chelates/ clarifies and my hair doesn't feel stripped at all after using it.

* REdken Smooth Down Shampoo is AWESOME! I mean it's awesome but it costs like 15 dollars for like 10 ounces..which makes it a little bit less awesome.. :(
* Redken Smooth Down Butter Treat is still expensive but i use it a lot and it lasts a long time. I use it as a leave in like daily and it hasn't failed me yet! It's so creamy and nice!
* Redken Heavy Cream made my hair really dry :( I didn't like it.

I pretty much have most of the different lines from Redkin. I love the all soft line. It makes my hair very soft. I have used the smooth down, color treated, and extreme. I just bought the real control mask and I really like that one too. You really can't go wrong with the line.

the all soft shampoo, conditioner and heavy cream are my fave products by redken. i really love the heavy cream. i have the butter treat but only used it once.

I've also been wondering about how good Reken products are for a while. Before I found an Ulta near me last month I called beforehand to ask about which product lines they carry for ethnic hair and they mentioned Redken. I figured there must be some Nikos' cousins around these parts, lol. I would eventually like to try to Allsoft and butter treat products.

My hair loves all things redken!!!! ive tried almost all the conditioners ( real control-con+mask, color extend, extreme, all soft, bodyfull)which leave my hair unbelievably soft, moisturized and strong! Even tho i mix mines into a concoction my hair didnt start improving in health fully until i used this line of products!!!

I'm here to sing the praises of Redken!! :worship2: Especially the All Soft conditioner and Smooth Down Butter Treat. :infatuated: My hair loves this combination - I use AS to cowash and BT as a leave in. Seal with EVOO = :lick: :infatuated:. AS kills every tangle w/o a comb (and my hair is naturally tangly). It gives me a lot of slip. And BT helps my hair to dry SOFT - always a challenge when air drying. :yep:

:grin::grin::grin:

I really like the All Soft and Real Control lines. The RC mask is really thick and moisturizing. The Heavy Cream isn't as moisturizing but it makes the hair butta soft :yep:

It's my staple DC. I love the Smooth Down Butter Treat, All Soft Heavy Cream, and Real Control Mask. I guess you're just gonna have to try it yourself and see if you like it, everyone's hair is different. They come in trial sizes

Thank you. I will definitely go that route.

I tried the Butter Treat for the first time today - OMG that stuff is fabulous. My ends looked totally nourished!!
