Hello everyone. I am new. SO, how do you know when to do all the diferent procedures? I got a relaxer two weeks ago for the first time in 7 years. Keeping my hair healthy is my #1 concern. The relaxer was lye based and contained shea butter. Does anyone have a schedule from touch up to touch up? By that I mean something like say -week1 cholestral week2 reconstructor week3 deep moisture...etc.
BTW I have 4B hair about 7 inches long, need to color gray from time to time.

Thanks for all you suggestions.

You may want to check out Carolyn Gray's book, "The Black Woman's Guide to Beautiful, Healthier Hair in 6 Weeks". I think it's out of print, but she has a downloadable version for sale on her site (www.blackwomansguide.com). There may be some used copies online. She has a different treatment for each week. It's not etched in stone, but it can give you an idea of what to do and when.

BTW--Do you use Epitomi African Shea Butter Relaxer? A friend of mine in Atlanta swears that is the best relaxer ever made. She's the only person I know who uses it.

Our Board Member Zanna rotates between 4 conditioners every 4 days--kind of like what you mentioned above. You can find her regimen on the "feature of the month" page. I think she was May or April.
