Recommend a brush please

I never really thought that brushes were inportant compared to seamless combs...as long as they were 100% boar bristle. Today I was brushing my hair and my scalp seemed to me itching/screaming for me to massage it...I think I remember someone mentioning a brush they used to massage the scalp but i'm not sure.

Please recommend a brush that you think does a good job of massaging the scalp as you brush your hair--if there is such a thing.......

daviine, the sophisticates hair magazine did a thing on this a few months ago (the cover wit kelly on it) but i cant find it so i'll keep lookin n post summin bout this wen i find it unless some1 does so b4 me

The culprit this time was my hairbrush! Exactly one year after I stopped brushing my hair, the bald spot had filled in with 6 inches of new hair! To thoses of you who may still choose to brush your hair despite my warnings, please consider the following arguments against brushing.
Arguments Against Brushing
The three functions of brushing were to
stimulate scalp circulation,
to distribute the sebum oils from the scalp to the ends of the hair,
and to loossen scalp scales and dirt.
Brushing hair in the past was considered good for it. However, brushing our hair has no real value and is more damaging then beneficial.
*Stimulating cicculation is neccessary for hair growth, but hair does not need to be brushed to stimulate circulation. As we discussed in Chapter 6, products are available that can create this effect that are less traumatic for both the scalp and haor. The reason we need to stimulate circulation will be covered later.
*Since BLACK hair needs additional oil to lubricate it anyway as the chapter on conditioners tells us, any attempt to manually distribute sebum oil is not neccessary.
*A good shampoo is formulated to loosen and remove dirt and scales, so brushing for this reason is also not a requirement. (Chapter 4)
Brushing is very damaging to Balck Hair because of our curl pattern. The less damage you do to your hair when you care for it, the more you keep on your head. Remember dreadlocks cannot even be comb yet they grow quite well on lots of brothers and sisters.

I always tease my friend about her brush. It looks similar to this one, but she got it from the pet dept. at Wal-mart!

She uses it to massage her scalp after she's applied her pomade at night.

Brushing in moderation like to put in a phonytail is not that bad, but brushing your relaxed hair just to be brushing is not a good idea.

You don't NEED a brush to stimulate your scalp (this is not saying you don't want one)...use the balls of your fingertips, NOT your nails just your fingertips and massage your scalp...and Hey you will also save some dollar, dollar bills y'all

When I use a brush lately I've been using a Denman brush(the D3 one). It feels good on the scalp and doesn't pull my hair like some other brushes. I don't use one that often but when I do I use this.
