Realistically speaking, how long do you have to take vitamins...

Before you see a noticeable effect? I'm thinking I want to get some (don't know what yet), but I want to stick with it for, say, 90 days...does this seem about right?

For me..the msm/silica take effect sooner(within two weeks) versus vitamins(a month or so)..before that I don't have enough growth to tell..

OIC! So maybe 6 weeks...don't want to waste too much time on something that doesn't work, but don't want to give up too quickly either!

Thanks for the input :)

i would say about 3 months too...everybody's body is different, so it may take more or less time than that to see some results...HTH

i say at least 6 months. after 3 months i may have a half an inch and wouldn't be able to judge a change. but everyone's hair is different and grows at different rates.

I usually can't stay with a vitamin regimen long enough to see results but this time I started in December and right now I'm starting to see the rewards of my consistency.

I think you need to give it AT LEAST 6-8 weeks.

I agree with this. I have been taking vitamins for 4 months and have told myself from the beginning that it would take a minimum of 6 months to see any *real* results. A year is even better.

what if you were taking them for about 4 months and then you stop for a month or so do you have to wait another couple of months to see the effect?

I believe it is 3-6 months. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I agree with nelli, you should stay with any vitamin for atleast 6 months to see results but some see results sooner than 3 months:)

You should stay on a vitamin regime for atleast 4-6 months.

For starters, you hair gets the wastes from your body. When you start adding in nutrients like omega fatty acids, extra biotin and extra sulphur from msm, your organs use it up first especially if you were lacking in those departments. Give it awhile to build up in your system and affect you hair. Don't forget that you hair goes through different growth and resting cycles and the quickness of your results, depends on your cycle. For example, if you are going through the resting and then shedding phase, you might not see a big difference growth difference until you enter your growth phase.

Everyone metabolizes vitamins differently, so I agree with the 3 to 6 months. But, many may notice changes within a month, but many others may not see anything drastic until about the 6th or 8th month. Usually, I need about 4 months to see a difference if I'm consistent.

Okay, sounds good. Looks like my intial thought of at least 3mos was on target...now to just figure out which vitamins to get. I know there are a few "staples" but need to figure out the rest!

Thanks ladies!
