Does anyone here own a real silk scarf? I was shopping for one and the prices were into the hundreds of dollars. Do y'all think the benefit of a silk scarf is worth the money?

Hello, I have two silk scarves that I bought on the clearance rack at Steinmart. They were like $10 each and in the accessories section with purses, sunglasses, jewelry, etc. If you don't have a Steinmart near you, any retail shop will have them. I think mine are both Ralph Lauren, but they are both 100% silk and work well on my hair.

Whenever I wash them, I put them in my machine on the gentle cycle, wash with cold water and Woolite and hang to air dry.

Hope this helps. :yep:

I do... but I get mine off of ebay and usually pay $3 to $5 for them plus $1 for shipping. i have not been let down yet

Go to the fabric store, get yourself a yard of silk (15 to 20 bucks) and you can get 2 30x30 scarves out of it, assuming it's 60 inches wide. A thing of hem tape (1.99) and you have two real silk scarves in a pattern and color just perfect for you.

EBAY is the place. I have many all from Jingling {she no longer is on e-bay}...most I ever payed was $12.00 for three thick, charmeuse silk scarves...check the feedback on the seller before buying.

Thank y'all 'cause the prices I saw was too way too much but I'm into babying my hair and I would have spent all that money for the benefit of healthy hair.

Man JustKiya you are a genius. I bought some silk yardage out of the scrap bin -1/2 off - at the fabric store but it has been sitting in the bag for a few months because I have been to lazy to sew that mug up. I am going to hem tape that scarf tomorrow. Thanks for the idea.
