I've never started a rave thread before, but I had to this time.
1) Revlon Tourmaline Hair Dryer
I saw this at CVS one day and wondered how good it would be. The stylist who blew out my hair for my friend's wedding (pic in siggy) used a tourmaline, but hers was some high-tech, turbo something or other. But still, I was intrigued by the Revlon. I read some reviews online, and almost all agreed that the Revlon was just about as good as the best one (I think it was called T3 or something). So, I used my CVS coupons to "buy" it (I paid $6 for it).
2) Silicon Mix
I have been hearing about this stuff since I've been on LHCF, but I was just too lazy to order it. I finally did. It came in the day after I got the dryer.
So, I washed my hair, deep conditioned with the SM, and rinsed. My hair was so soft and silky. It just felt GOOD. I airdried partially, then blowdried my hair, in sections, with the Revlon. Afterward, I was thinking, ok, my hair doesn't feel any different. It dried a lot faster, but that was it.
Then, I flat ironed. OMG. My hair was smooth, soft, silky, flowy...the whole nine. It usually gets straight at the roots, where it's natural, and the ends, where it's relaxed bone straight, but the texlaxed part gives me trouble and never really gets smooth. It did this time, just like when I got it professionally done.
Later that night, my dh was running his fingers through my hair and said, "Ok, is your hair dry?" I said yes, and he said, "It feels damp!" That's how soft and silky and moisturized it was.
I did these raves together because I'm not entirely sure which product was responsible for what, but I know that I am in love with my new dryer and Silicon Mix. The combo of them together resulted in near professional hair.
As you know, I'm transitioning, but I only saw a few broken hairs. Also, the dryer doesn't get that hot. I was concerned about that, but I guess it's the tourmaline technology that does the job. My hair reverted just fine when I wet it last night, so no damage. Also, the SM made detangling a breeze for me.
Just had to share that! I'm sure it's old news to many of yall.
