Rave Reviews

As we all know, when a product on this site is popular,it is really popular (and everyone who uses it at the time seems to love it). In this thread I was hoping I could get some feedback on previous rave reviews, now the that spotlight on these once "Best of the best" products has dimmed. Who still loves MTG, DivaSmooth, Phytorelaxers, Kiya's fizzle, baggying, monistat, Cathy house, Borgello regimen, Carolyn Gray or any of the many products and methods unlisted that was once extremely popular on the board now that some of the popularity has worn off? Who still loves it after they have used more than a bottle of it/practiced it more than 6 months continuously and in different conditions? Who has decided that the product/method wasn't "all that" and they just got caught up in the hype.

What are your rave reviews....after the fact? Which actually became staples?

A few I can think of...

Aveda...everything! Everyone used to be all over the Aveda bandwagon, now I see it posted less and less. Maybe b/c of the recession its just too darn expensive. Great products though. I used them exclusively for about 12 mos, but realized there were other cheaper products that provided the same or very similar results

Phytorelaxer. Again widely adored by the board a couple of years ago, I used it exclusively for 2 years, but have just switched to Mizani Lye and am loving the results!

Okay, I LOVE Kiya's fizzle! Don't use it all the time, but it does great stuff for my hair.

I'm natural now, but when I was relaxed I worshipped Phytorelaxer. I used Mizani once, but I itched for TWELVE STRAIGHT WEEKS! Total utter misery.

Definitely on the MN, but tried baggying and my hair's not that into it. TOO moisturizing, mushy hair resulted.

Also loving homemade darn near anything, samanthajones' steam treatment (HEAVEN GIRL!!), the homemade carmel treatment, moisturizing and sealing, all that jazz.

For me I wanted to bad to do the MTG bandwagon but got one whiff of that stuff and couldn't use it. At the time I was just perusing the boards and say hey let's try it.

I love washing my hair in braids (crown and glory) I don't use the whole regimen for that method but the washing in large braids is really effective in my hair not tangling up.

I even tried the MN and ovation but they were both pretty expensive to keep it up. With the MN I felt ridiculous buying yeast infection cream when I have never had a yeast infection. I feel like I haven't been really consistent with the "growth bandwagons" in general because I generally choose style of hair health. BUT.....now is as good of time as any to change that(well not growth wagon specifically, but be more consistent with hair health instead of just the way it looks).

Buying quality tools were worth it from the board. Love the solia, runway, shower comb the flat iron EZ comb thing, sedu blow dryer. The board that got me to notice those objects. When I do use them they are worth it.
