Passing APL is so hard for me. I think it might be my terminal length? I am going to aggressively protective style to see if I can reach BSL

I saw a very unique hair texture on a little boy recently. From a distance, it just looked like any little black boy’s short (1 cm) afro-textured hair, but when he got closer, I saw that the hair was straight. It wasn’t especially dense, and the strands looked coarse, but they were totally straight. I have never seen that hair texture before. The family was Muslim, but I couldn’t tell from which country/ethnicity. The father did not have the same texture; he had the kind of fade that we’ve all seen, and the mom’s hair was covered, so I couldn’t see her texture. It didn’t look like a relaxer either (and the only reason I’m mentioning that is because at the same event, there was a biracial boy with a Dominican mom who actually did have obviously relaxed hair, and every black mom who saw him did a double-take, ).
