Random hair balls?

Ok. Not sure how else to describe it. When my hair is out (ponytail or just wild afro), bits of hair gathers to the point that I can see it and just pull it out. :ohwell: Like two or three strands clumped together. :perplexed

I notice this more as a natural. I just pulled one out of my ponytail. Not sure how it manages to just clump together.

Does this happen to anyone else? I never noticed this as a relaxed head. :nono:

Is it just shed hair? Do I need to up my vitamins? Not sure why this is happening. I comb almost everyday. :look:

This doesn't happen to me on dry hair but when I think I'm done detangling in the shower and I'm letting my conditioner soak, I do sometimes notice that a clump of shed hair that wasn't there before has made it's way to the ends of my hair and I can just pluck it right out.

I'd guess it's just shed hair you forgot about. Do the clumps have bulbs on the ends?

Good idea! I never thought to look for bulbs at the end. I'll do that the next time.

I was wondering if this was unusual for a natural on dry hair.
@Holla I don't think it's unusual; at least not for me. I think I get them because I finger detangle and style my hair. I may use a fine-tooth comb every other week to remove shed hair. But mostly I may see the balls every other day.

I'm 4CZ natural.

I never got them when I was relaxed 'cause I combed my hair every day.
