Raised Catholic but attend Baptist Church

I was raised Catholic but lately I have been attending a Baptist church which I enjoy and will continue to attend.

My question is what is the difference between Baptists and AME? My friend who is AME says AME women are very strong but the Baptist church does not allow women to hold positions of power. I am not in religion for the power but I was just wondering.

I'm not Baptist nor AME so I can't help much there but could you possibly ask someone at your church about their doctrine?

I do notice that they have diffrent church governing models. I'd actually think that woman would have higher positions within the Baptist church based on that. (But I haven't looked at the doctrine really)

That's funny, I'm reversed. I go to an AME but interested in attending Catholic services every now and again. As for the differences between the two, I'm not sure. I honestly thought that they were similar in terms of church style, I'm talking about Black Baptists.
