Hi Ladies!!!!!
Now that my wedding planning is over, I'm baaaaaccccccckkkkkkkk!!!!!!! I've missed the forum so much!!! And I've missed being able to pay meticulous attention to my hair like I used to!
Anyway I've been taking a few days to catch up (ie...lurking) on what's been going on here on the boards lately. It's sooooo good to see so many new people on the board and good to see some of you have been on for years and still maintaining beautiful HEALTHY hair!! Also good to see that you guys have kept the Hide Your Hair Challenges going!!!!
Anyway to catch you guys up on me:
-I got married in August after being engaged for 22 months!! So I devoted a lot of the last year plus to planning the wedding. I also bought a house and moved just outside of Philly (I miss NY).
-About the hair...I've chopped my hair 2 times this year. Once in January and again last month. I also had 1 or 2 trims in the middle of that. My hair is growing back now and I'm a few inches above APL (my hair is in the middle of my shoulder blades). I also have bangs now, which are growing out very quickly!
-I honestly just started regular deep conditions again. I know that's sooooo bad! But I let my wedding and house buying take over my life which was bad.
-I'm not wearing any weaves right now just my hair.
-I'm contemplating what my next move will be with my hair...very recently I've considered going natural. I'm not sure about that yet, but I've been watching a lot of youtube videos and pics of natural ladies on the boards with women with natural hair and it's just been calling me!!!! Especially when I saw Poohbear's hair!!!!! Geez girl!! Your hair is looking good!!
-Anyway I haven't been protective styling as vigorously as I should be. I'm trying to wear more pin curl styles to limit heat though.
I think that's about it...I'll have to take an update picture of my hair to show you ladies. Hopefully I can get DH to take a picture of my hair soon.
Oh one more thing!!!! I finally decided that hair is what I want to do with my life!!!! I applied to the Aveda Institute and I got in, so I just have to get through financial aid and then I'll start in November (part-time that is). It's going to be hard process transitioning out of Corporate America but I know in the end I will be MUCH happier and fulfilled. My ultimate goal is own my own salon or salons dedicated to healthy hair.
