______________

(KYTX) - An East Texas based evangelist, with a global ministry has passed away.

Reverend R.W. Schambach died from heart failure Tuesday morning. (Jan. 17)

Brother Schambach, as he liked to be called, began his life ministry during divine military mission on a destroyer off the coast of Japan during WWII. That mission turned into ministry. He and his wife Winn shared the bible's lessons for more than 60 years, traveling around the world.
Reverend Schambach's Facebook page has been flooded with words of love and memories from around the world.

Here in East Texas, his ministry based near Lake Palestine has been busy answering questions. His daughter and president of Schambach Ministries, Donna Schambach, spent the afternoon talking about her father, the legacy he's leaving behind, and his work connecting people around the world in a fight for Christian values.

"It was all about impartation and his sermons over the last years were "I want to raise an army." It's not about one big preacher, it's about a group of people who believe that we're drawing near to the end of time and what we do for the Lord Jesus Christ is very very important," Donna said.
Schambach was 85 years old when he passed Tuesday. He preached on six continents and his daughter said he'll be most remembered for his tent sermons over the decades.

Donna also said Schambach Ministries will keep moving forward, because that's what her dad wanted. Donna preached under many tents with her father and said that legacy of teaching is in her DNA too.
The family scheduled a memorial service for R.W. Schambach. It will happen Friday, February 3rd at Rose Heights Church in Tyler. The service begins at 7pm.

He will be missed, I can't tell you how many tent meetings I have attended over the years. Awesome and powerful minister.

He loved tent meetings. Loved telling the stories of the different places and what took place during them.

And you know what's so awesome ladies? He is with the Lord...the One he has preached about for YEARS!!!

We will see him again...praise the Lord!

This man knew the power of God that dwelled within him. To God be the glory. I remember a story about a witch who threatened to cast a spell over him and kill him.

She approached him during on of his services and said. "Shambach, I going to make you a pie". Instead of trembling in fear, he looked her in the eye, smiled and replied, "Make it blueberry!"

I'm surprised at how little press is covering his death. He was awesome. I remember Juanita Bynum telling the story about how she was saved under his ministry OUTSIDE of the church. Being rebellious and refusing to go in. One thing we all know is that his impartation was off the chain. He was very heavy handed and would slap the devil out of folks.
