Quicky.. How long do I have to wait to get braids after a new touchup

I would wait until I have at least 1/2" of new growth. Depending on how fast your hair grows, that could be 3 weeks or more.

I generally wait until my hair gets nappy. For me this is better because I had gotten braids with a fresh relaxer and waited 2 weeks, my hair fell out tremendously. My beautician suggested that I wait at least until my hair gets nappy (probably 6-8 weeks of new growth). Ever since I waited I haven't had problems with my hair since.

ITA. Every time I have gotten braids they suggested that I wait at least 3 weeks after a touchup.

My braider said the same thing. They do hold better I've learned...

I guess maybe its the person that i go to to braid my hair...but i have never had any prblems with relaxing my hair and then putting braids in like 2 days after..ive even taken my braids out and put a relaxer in the same day with no problems...maybe its my hair but i dont have any breakage from doing this...i did it for a entire year where i would wear braids for 2 months remove them do a touch up...get braids put back in the next day...and then wear braids again for another 2 months...i did this routine for an entire year and half and my hair grew down to my shoulders....
