I'm not 100% natural but I do have a section where I cut of all of the relaxer. I tested that section with the Maxiglide, Chi, and Sedu the other day and the Chi won hands down. The Maxiglide didn't do anything for the ends of natural hair which is very dry nor did it straighten the hair.
The Sedu made it shine more but didn't straighten it very well. The Chi straightened that section from root to tip and it looks like I relaxed my hair. Mind you, I have type 4 hair which seems to be resistant and this particular section of my hair is the dryest and hardest to moisturize.
Three days later and it's still straight, soft and smooth. The hair closest to my scalp (1/2") has reverted but that happens no matter what because my hair is very resistant (as I have recently found out).
The original Chi which is what professionals use does leave a burnt smell which is why I use it after using Silicon Mix (all I smell is the Silicon Mix ). All irons leave a burnt smell in my hair (some stronger than others). At first, I thought the Sedu didn't leave a burnt smell but when I tested it on my natural section the other day, it did.
They do sell a Chi Turbo but I was told that it's more for home use when you want to do a touchup after a visit to the salon.
I started to get the Chi but opted for the Maxiglide. I may try to get the Chi for my birthday. I used curl was to get the ends straight using the maxiglide.
