Does anyone straighten with no products??? I'm curious and thought about trying it. I know a few people who went down south and came back straightening their hair with no products and i love how fluffy and light it looks.
I straighten with no product because it's the only way for it to be shiny and bouncy. But then again, I try not to straighten that often for that exact reason...supposedly it's bad for your hair to go without a heat protectant. I guess I'll just have to risk it because I don't like the greasy look.
My auntie did this on my relaxed hair with 2-3 inches of new growth and it came out good. I think as long as you have a good shampoo/conditioner before you straighten then it should be okay. I haven't straightened my hair since I went fully natural hair but when my auntie did it my new growth came out real straight and it didn't revert until I washed it about a week later.
I use to because I wanted my hair to have bounce but because our hair lack moisture it didn't last long because eventually I had to end up putting something on it to give it sheen and moisture. What I do now is use Profectiv Healthy Ends on my freshly washed hair then flatiron.. Then afterwards I use QP Mango Butter for moisture, my hair seems to love this combination.
