how long does it take to reach SL? my hair is 1 inch past my ear.

It should take about 6-8 months depending on the distance from ear to shoulder and your frowth rate.

It depends on your regimen. Are you taking care of those ends? Properly moisturizing and sealing them? If not, you will not see much length especially if the ends are breaking off.
