Question

I just got my touch-up and I want to use a color rinse and I also want to do a reconstructur treatment, and hot oil treatment...
I don't know which order I should perform these in... I was thinking:

1. Hot Oil treatment.
2. Shampoo.
3. Reconstructur Treatment.
4. Color Rinse.
5. Deep moisturizing Treatment.

But I don't know, I should do.... Does this sound O.K.?

Or reconstruct after the color rinse... I always reconstruct within a week after a touch-up... It's putting the color rinse on that is confusing me..

I'd probably do it in the same order as you, LadyZ

The only thing is, reconstructors fill the hair cuticle with stuff don't they?
So maybe the colour might be hard to get into the hair shaft afterwards?
So I might change 3 and 4 around.
Although, I'm sure I read somewhere that reconstructors strip out colour, so maybe you shouldn't change them around.

You should:
1. Reconstruct
2. Neutralizing shampoo
3. Hot oil treatment
4. Color rinse
5. Deep cond.
Enjoy! If you haven't already finished ;)

I do my hot oil and deep conditioning together, so based on that, I would:

1 shampoo
2 reconstruct
3 color rinse
4 deep moisturize/hot oil

first , we need to know if you have already neutralized and if you used a reconstructor prior to neutralzing. If you have already done this, I think that you should do a pre-hot oil treatment on dry hair, then shampoo, then condition (reconstruct then mositure) and then put in the rinse hth.

I am already neutralized and no I did not use a reconstructor prior.
What you are saying sounds about right... reconstructing makes the hair need moisturizing afterwards... The only thing that I wonder about is, will conditioning before using the color rinse, prevent the rinse(color) from being absorbed into the hair:confused: IDK

I think conditioning does prevent the colour from being absorbed. But I thought it was ok for you to do the hot oil treatment first (pre-shampoo) as you were shampooing afterwards anyway.

THe reconstructing bounces the hair back from the chemical service, that's why for moisture you should do the hot oil treatment after neutralizing this way the hair isn't too dry or broken down from the first chemical service. After rinsing deep condition so that it can over all help the hair with softness, moisture, and etc. I think it would be better for the health of the hair.

I did a rinse after my last touch-up. After neutralizing, I did the rinse. Shampooed with a moisturizing shampoo and followed that up with a 50/50 mix of a moisturizing/reconstructing conditioner.

I don't think I would use the hot oil treatment unless I was going to shampoo it out prior to adding the rinse. I think that would keep the rinse from being absorbed more than the reconstructor.

I think you should shampoo first then apply the color rinse because you might not get the desired results if you do the reconstructor, hot oil treatment and deep conditioner first. It is best to do a color rinse on clean shampooed hair for effective results then condition and do the additional stuff later.

OK, I am so confused... But this is what I think I will do...

1. Hot Oil Treatment.
2. Shampoo.
3. Apply Color Rinse.
4. Apply Reconstructor.
5. Deep Moisture Conditioner...

I will post what the results are and if I will do it again in that order....

Gwad, I am confused:lol: ...

ITA! Reconstructors/protein conditioner tx, they do fill in the hair strands, but it also lets any color to absorb better. I either got that off the p&g hair site, or from a member of another hair site. Plus, I did a protein tx 5wks or so before the blonde. I followed up w/ deep conditioning for several weeks. The last time I did the blonde, it finally worked! It was just the color that I wanted, and I attribute this to the protein tx helping my hair take in more of the color.

You are right...
Well, this is what I did...

1. Hot Oil Treatment.
2. Shampoo.
3. Reconstructur.
4. Color Rinse
5. Deep Condition.

I tell you what, it came out really nice... The color absorbed really good..
I don't even have the color stain on my hands when I apply my products:eek:... So this is the way to apply a color rinse....

Thank you ladies for all the advise...
