IF ONE WANTED TO DO A HOME BKT TREATMENT, and did not have a flat iron that went up to 450 degrees would it really make that big of a diff?

Unfortunately I've had this experience. I BKT'ed at home with my original CHI which only get up to 370 degree's.
I can't compare it to the normal BKTing experience as this was my first treatment, but my hair turned out fantastic! The original treatment felt soft but was not super shiny like other's results, when washed out it was much better. But like I said I'm not sure if this is the best that I could have gotten.

IMO you should just buy a ceramic flatiron that reaches the suggested temperature. (If you do you research you can find one for like 25 bucks).

do you have photos?
was your hair relaxed before the BKT?

No I don't have photo's because the only camera I own is on my iMac and the pics suck. Yes my hair is relaxed and I'm about 16 wks post-relaxer.
My hair drys and flatirons easier and faster, more shine, use way less products, and bun now dry supershiny
