Question for self relaxers.....how much new

growth can you relax at home? I have officially fallen off the transition bandwagon and I want to relax my hair... I have gone 7 months and have a massive amount of hair. I started with a "Halle" type cut, so basically I am in need of a virgin application on the majority of my head. I only have a small amount of relaxed ends on the top. I have self relaxed with a touch up application, but I am nervous about doing this one. I only want to relax 80% and I am afraid a stylist won't do what I ask, because they NEVER do! Please advise ladies......

I self relaxed after 12 months w/out a touch up. IMO, it is easier to relax at 80% the more newgrowth you have.

That was my thinking too, but I was not sure because I don't have much experience with the self relaxing thing!
