How do you protect your ends? I tried last night using the Mizani H20 and the ends still came out scraggly . . .

Help and thanks!

Sorry I cant help you there because I used Mizani H20 and pin curled my hair and my ends look pretty good. What kind of rollers did you use?

I used these:

Hi! My mother had once gotten me those rollers. I find the material too drying, esp. for my ends. I am still wondering what to do with them, as I will never use them again. BUT, if you liked how the set turned out otherwise (I didn't), maybe you could try end papers.

I use Satin covered foam rollers and that satin just gets soaked in moisturizers over time. They actually help my hair's moisture as a result.

I can use just about any moisturizer that is not too "wet", but I like Qhemet's Olive Cream Detangler, the Mane N Tail creams, the Profectiv Mega Growth Strenghtening cream, Sunrise Products Hair Souffle and sometimes I just use oil.

Is you hair moisturized and frizzy or dry and scraggly? If it is moisturized and frizzy, you may have used too much moisturizer or your hair was already over-moisturized.

I put Elasta Oil Recovery and Mango Butter on my hair (root to ends) about 30 min. before rolling. Then I roll with those pillow/flexible rollers, I cover them with an end paper first. My ends come out fine also when I use flexi rods I get good results and I don't use end papers with those.

I spray with my homemade moistureze spray and put a little castor oil on my ends and roll my hair w/flexirods.

I find that anytime I use a fabric covered roller:nono:, I get more frizzy ends. The fabric sucks out all the moisture I tried to infuse before rolling. I sometimes use NTM, EndAll hair balm or mango butter followed by caster oil and I get smooth ends.

I use NTM and 6 magnetic rollers (with silver cips to secure them). I just finger comb my hair towards the back and use 2 rollers for bottom, 2 for middle and 2 for top. But a satin cap over it.

Wake up in the morning, take rollers out and finger comb and "voila!" like a fresh rollerset.

Do you use end papers? :yep: Make sure your ends are wet and completely within the end paper. Lottabody setting lotion also helps. For me, the combination spells the difference between a great rollerset and disaster.

I use the same rollers that you did - a Dominican stylist recommended them to me. I put a dab of shea butter on my ends and in the morning my ends are soft, smooth and shiny!

This weekend I was out of town and didn't have my tub of shea butter (yes, I buy it in 5 gallon containers! We use it for our skin too!) so I tried a little bit of (gulp!) dollar store brand of Vaseline and it worked beautifully, believe it or not.
