Hey ladies!!
I tried the baggie technique last night... and I'm kind of concerned. I thought I was making a lot of progress when it comes to the moisture in my hair but after what happened last night, I think not.
I put my hair up in a pony tail sprayed the pony tail with a mixture of distilled water, MOP extreme moisture conditioner, jojoba oil and sweet almond oil, then I grabbed a baggie added 1/4 cup of EVOO and dunked my ponytail inside. Before I finished tying the baggie around my ponytail ALL of the EVOO was GONE!!!!

What does that mean?!?!?! I felt horrible as if I was starving someone and all of the sudden fed them. I don't even know what to think. What do you guys think?!?!?!?

Well, when you took the baggie off was your ponytail moist?

I know that the hair soaks up a lot of the oil but you should just tie it on as usual and let the baggie do it's trick! I don't think you have anything to worry about.

This may sound dumb, but what is EVOO? I don't know if this answers your question or not, but i do the baggie technique also, because I have very dry ends. And when i take my baggie off, there is nothing in it and my pony tail is nice and hydrated.

EVOO is extra virgin olive oil, it took me a while to figure this one out too.

As I was tying the baggie it slipped and I thought S#*!@ I'm going to get oil all over the place, but it was dry as a whistle. I went ahead and tied it back into place, wrapped my head with a scarf and went to bed. This morning my ends were moist, not greasy. So I think I will do it again tonight. Obviously the dryness situation is more serious than I thought

I do the baggie on a daily basis. My ends are very moisturized. My baggie is always empty when I take it off. I guess my hair is just soaking up that extra moisture.
D, your hair is going to love this. Your ends will remain soft silky and moisturized. No breakage either!

Thanks for the encouragement DSD!! I will keep doing it beacuse my hair is obviously screaming for moisture!! I live in Alabama and if it's planned with enough time I think I can make it to the Atlanta meet! let me know!!

Can someone give me more info on the baggie technique, believe it or not this is my first time hearing about it.

i've actually never tried this with oils. they do tend to soak right in. i use curl activator for moisture and Vaseline to seal it in. if the EVOO is working for you though, keep using it, girl!

You are welcome!

Well I would love to see as many ladies at the ATL meeting as possible. Hope you can make it!

This happens with me, too. However, the oil is still on the hair so you don't have to compensate by putting more EVOO in the baggie. Just leave it on until the next time you wash your hair. The hair should stay moisturized because it's in the ocnfinded space with EVOO on it already and it's exposed to less air.

After this happens, you don't have to worry about spilling oil all over the place because it's been absorbed by the hair.

Some brands of EVOO have a "loud" smell. I hate products with loud smells!

(plus you hair starts to smell)
What brand of EVOO are you using???? If I can find something that doesn't stink I may give this a try.
