I'm sure some of you have seen in one or more posts that I am stretching my relaxer for the first time. I usually won't go any further than 10 weeks. My stylist hates it, she always wants me to go 12 if not longer. So of course she was excited when I saw her in Feb and told her of my plans to stretch......She was very happy, I mentioned that I'd be coming more regularly for roller sets because I wasn't too sure about any other styles I could do for the stretch. She told me to just do wash and goes....Yeah I know unbelievable a stylist whos not all about her money but all about the health of my hair....

Anyway, I've only been back once since that Feb visit for one of her roller sets. Thanks to this site I've been doing braid outs, air drys, and my own roller sets

Anywho.....I'm going to a wedding April 18th. I called my stylist today, reminded her as of now I'm in my 14th week, by then I'll be going into week 17. With no direct heat and no relaxer. I'm trying to reach 18 weeks and then see how much further I can go but not exceeding 24 weeks.

She says she'll just press my roots and give me a roller set. My question is instead of using all the heat to press my roots, should I just go ahead and get the relaxer....Your thoughts ladies?????

Sorry this was so long, I wanted to be thorough in the explanation of what I'm trying to do and they type of stylist she is.

If ur goal is to stretch and you say she's a good stylist I say go ahead and have her straighten your roots. Yes it's direct heat but it's only for the wedding, then you can go back to your rollersets, braid outs etc....

Unless you are transitioning i don't see any need on stretching past 16 weeks. I say relax if you are relaxing anyway. I stretch 12-14 weeks and is enough growth to go ahead and be fine...:spinning:
